I went to Home Depot and bought a Heavy Duty Shovel Handle for around $5......it works fine for walking, busting thru brush, turning over rocks......and if needed, all out battle.

I've had the GMRS radio (License Required) for a year or so, and in scanner mode I've never heard anyone else. Even though it says 15 miles....it is good for about a mile in the woods. The FRS is Channels 1-14 and GMRS is Channels 15-22.....they make some combined models. There are always people in the Dallas Area parking lots when I get those Skirt Lifting Micros....so they can assist me when I get lost.

I don't know about the sattellites.....but. I had a weird one today.....the bearing pointer would not display....I recycled the unit a couple times and finally it worked again.
