  1. "He wasn't asking about a rule against it, just opinions ( I think.). Also like you these types would go on my ignore list regardless if I was "qualified" to hunt it or not. To me it's just in poor taste. El Diablo" correct... I don't want to read a 732 page georulebook
  2. Well, lets be real: Why would you have bothered searching for such a cache if you only have a few finds and if the cache listng page clearly stated that to be eligible to claim a find you must have at least 99 finds? That kinda sounds like trying to tempt the Fates to me, i.e., kinda like looking for trouble. I personally feel that the requirement is rather arbitrary and a bit silly, but after all, a cache is only a plastic box in the woods -- why not just ignore it if you do not meet the prerequisite requirements? LMAO... I'm not one to tempt fates... or climb pylons But its pretty much in my backyard!! If I go on my porch I can see the hill its on
  3. "It would be great if this was your century (100th) cache find." and it is listed as a members only. Which I have no problem with
  4. I'm not going to list the cache here since I have not heard back from the cache owner yet. But this requirement really seems to me not to be in the spirit of the game "If you don't have at least 99 caches, then your find will be deleted on this site." The owner has made it a members only cache. Thats just cool with me. I pay my dues. If I can look at the page, find the cache, sign the log,and maybe even do something crazy like trade up, Why should my find be deleted? All I saw in the guidelines was the following: "Cache Maintenance The cache owner will assume all responsibility of their cache listings. The responsibility of your listing includes quality control of posts to the cache page. Delete any logs that appear to be bogus, counterfeit, off topic, or not within the stated requirements." So I guess this meets the guidelines , But is it right?

  6. looks really cool. Like the video too. No problem watching it. Then again I'm using 21st century technology and viewing with safari.
  7. So people doing the virtual logging from across the country can get the jeep TB's here locked? That just don't seem right. I've seen 1 guy that has virtually logged 14 green jeeps all across the country including here edit: fat fingers Well, he's cheating. And it's abuse of the system. I don't think they are about to start locking all Jeep TB pages, but the one used in the advertisement was locked because the number was on display. I have no control over owner maintenance of logs on the Jeep TB, I am not about to go searching and guessing which ones are bogus. If there is something blatantly bogus, I would be able to delete the log, but I am not going to become the TB police either, that would be a full time job, with overtime and no holidays and no vacation! It's up to us to be honest in life. Cheaters never win and winners never cheat. When you see him you can take the Jeremy hand signal, turn it sideways so the back of your hand is against your forehead and give him the signal. It should look like a capital L when done properly. Thats cool. I really don't care if someone is virtually logging them.I don't get the point though. I would hate to see the tb's around here get locked because of some loser 1500 miles from here. Thanks for clearing that up for me

  9. I was able to grab mine right after I opened the envelope How can you see the locations by state?
  10. I haven't decked out the Teams page much., but we're just starting.
  11. And that someone is the one responsible for economics education in America. Who's with me?! sounds good to me
  12. I use a Garmin GPS12 . Why you ask ? It's built like a tank and I got it free about 6 years ago. Played with a bit then put in a drawer. Then a couple of months ago I discovered this habit / hobby. Every cache I've found so far has been within 20ft when it zero'd out.I'm willing to bet my DNF's were there too.I haven't needed a bell or whistle yet. I might upgrade and spend $400 when Garmin decides to be Mac friendly. Then I might not. A cheap PDA is on the list though. Just my n00b opinion
  13. I"m new but I guess I'll never get the big numbers if I keep this up
  14. Eric KF4OTN Then what? The rather smallish cache type, for something just a bit bigger than a decon-kit? How about portly, for those really wide ammo cans? I hope you're talking about the container and not the hider
  15. I read about it somewhere about a month ago & decided this was something I wanted to try. I started researching what GPSr to buy that was mac compatible and was disappointed. Then I remembered that I had a garmin gps12 boxed up in storage. I dug it out and went out in my neighborhood looking for urban micros.Tomorrow the Team is going out for our 2nd caching adventure. we are hooked! TeamBarstool
  16. I think you just hit on something there. A smiley for every piece of trash picked up at a CITO. I mean why just log one attended for a CITO when you can log 50, 100 or more attendeds for every piece picked up? Throw in a few dozen pocket caches and you can walk away from a CITO adding a couple hundred finds to your count. This will have the benefit of making CITOs more popular and provice incentive for people to pick up more trash when there. Hey.. the really scary thing is that somewhere someone has aleady read this, thinks you are serious, and is currently logging in his 400 caches from this afternoon's CITO. At least it will be the cleanest square mile on the planet!
  17. I'm just a newbie , but are the c.i.t.o. counts for each piece of stuff picked up? I think i'm just gonna count when I find and sign a log. I hate to put myself at such a disadvantage. I'll be proud of my 72 smilies in a year. TeamBarstool
  18. Howdy All I'm Jeff From TeamBarstool. Read about geocaching about a month ago. I dug up my garmin gps12 that hadn't seen the light of day in 5 years and now the team is hooked. We went 10 for 12 our 1st day of hunting urban altoids cans. We can't wait to get out into the desert and look for some larger caches.
