  1. Whiners? I'd have to read back through the thread, from the beginning. Ratings ain't got much to do with it. Outside of guideline caches need to be archived and removed. Inside of guideline caches need to be supported. Read the archived cache page: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=gc1a5vj Guidelines are just that. Guidelines. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guideline "never mandatory"
  2. How awesome is this state! There are so many incredible locations left to be discovered... Stand by for coordinates, the cache has been submitted!
  3. Blah blah blah... Where did all the whiners come from? The cache was rated correctly, right? As long as it wasn't an active bridge?! whoops! (guidelines!) See this cache and its associated bookmark for an example: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=gcy72p Send Peoria Whining Bill to find it...
  4. "The Devil Made Me Do It" is the oldest unfound cache in Colorado: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GCGG7W Going on 5 years now... Not bad???
  5. Awesome! we really want to visit Mesa Verde this summer. can you recommend any caches around there?
  6. Thank you for making this obsessive hobby possible!
  7. Bummer! I just returned from San Diego the other day, and ALL the snow is gone! (...but while you were all struggling to find buried caches, I was gorging on caches in MTRP )
  8. You are a picture wizard for sure! ..but it looks like someone is missing four smileys!
  9. I'll be working San Diego for a few days next week. I was wondering if anyone can recommend some caches or areas/parks to cache in. I'll probably only have time in the evenings around dusk. I prefer areas of significance when traveling, like virtual caches, and I won't have much time for puzzles and multi's. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!
  10. I see four caches in this picture, over 13,500'! (...two are mine!) Great shots!
  11. That's kinda weird! If you wanna join cachers on halloween, try this Linky
  12. I just found a silver one for sale on ebay. A quick google search led me to this thread and hogwild. Thanks for putting this project together! I just ordered two Gold Coins for FTF in Virginia and FTF in Colorado!
  13. Excellent post RM, thanks for bringing that to our attention! I wonder who's job it is to choose the banner pics..? They never choose my favorite pics! Like this next one advertising the new red jeep travel bug and showing the importance of rocker panel protection: Or this pic! A little airborne action while showing the importance of teamwork among cachers: It was a great time! Thanks again for setting it up!
  14. That sounds more like neglect. People don't go to events if they are stealing travel bugs... Each Event Sponsor should designate one person/s to check in each travel bug to a central location(bucket) and then copy down the caching name and travel bug code for each travel bug that get's checked out.
  15. I'm almost ready to go! The parts are in, but... I'm terrible at puzzle's... ... and I'm not too good at puzzle caches either!
  16. It looks like I'm late to the party... Thanks Rocketman for making my jeep look so short! However, short jeeps can go places that lifted jeeps can't! I call it, "Jeep Spalunking"!
  17. Great Idea! then you can get an encrypted specialty plate! and give the guy driving behind you a puzzle to solve!
  18. I'm not a GSAK user... so maybe I over tasked myself! but I did just complete the VA Delorme with some primative 'My Documents' methods. I started 2 major folders.. Pages Completed and Pages Incomplete (names dont matter) Then I made a folder for each page of the Delorme and I saved all the HTML file versions of the caches I visited in these folders.. and the HTML files of the caches I had planned for unfinished pages.. Then when I was done with a page, I would delete the files of the caches I didnt find and slide the whole delorme 'page' folder from the Inompleted to the Completed Main folders.. Plus I made a little spreadsheet where I kept track of the waypoint codes per page.. I know I overworked myself but I didn't want to goof up and miss a page while on the road...
