You could post the text and pictures into a new thread.

Who gave you the authority to change rules?

Actually I was quite amazed by it. Looking at the entire area around the old bridge you can see how it is affected by the stream coming down off the Mt. Where ever the water is being blocked, it finds a new way to get down hill. nothing gets in its way. An entire hill side is being washed away from the loss of soil being washed downstream. Is there a nice view? If you took pictures, post them here!

As I understand it, the "disabled" status occurs when email to the associated email account starts bouncing back. ...or by request through Groundspeak's contact email address. I was hoping a Lackey would have chimed in by now to answer my above questions about disabled accounts.

If it were my account to be deleted: My account, my logs, my choice...

that sounds fascinating! what is the trailhead to summit elevation change? what climbing class is the easiest route? any informational websites available?
-
I would ask myself this question first: Would I enjoy visiting this old abandoned road to log an 'earthcache'? I've always considered an earthcache as something natural and beautiful. I doubt I would enjoy visiting broken up concrete.
-
I would place it in erosional..... Concur. Per the definations where Hydrologic is a water feature not included in another classification. However, I'd really like to know how Kit Fox would design an avalanche earthcache!? I have multiple locations available near me, but no clue as to what kind of educational exercises an earthcacher could perform at a popular avalanche site.

That's not what we're hearing out west. One cache page = One GC code = One date and time Are these group members logging multiple attendance logs on these cache pages?
-
Yes. Yes. Yes. So... what's the benefit then, "You can no longer log into it"? I have no idea what you're asking. What is the benefit of having an account "disabled"? (since it can't be deleted) I.E. (an account I no longer use is disabled) what is different? That account can no longer be accessed by me, yet it's history remains viewable to the public?

How does the community feel about requiring pictures of geocachers and their gpsr's in order to qualify a 'found it' log? Specifically, should the geocacher be required show their face in these photos? There are quite a few reasons why geocachers dislike posting themselves: 1. they prefer to remain anonymous 2. they don't own or carry a digital camera 3. when alone, they don't want to hold a camera out for a self shot et cetera ...and there are a few ways around that: 1. they post a picture of their dog or stuffed animal to represent themselves 2. they post a picture of their hand (holding the gpsr) to represent themselves 3. they don't post a picture at all and expect the CO to approve it et cetera How do you respond to this? Delete their logs cacoughout... or Let it go... I had an experience with an earthcache owner who decided to delete my (3) logs, because the picture(s) didn't show my face. Those (3) earthcache requirements stated, "post a picture of yourself and your gpsr". I met this requirement with choice number 2 (above) by using my hand and gpsr pictured with the (3) earthcache features. After a couple emails, this earthcache owner edited those cache pages to state, "post a picture of your face and your gpsr". I haven't been that tough with my own listed earthcaches, and was shocked to find my logs were deleted. I don't feel that pictures should be a 'hard requirement'. However, if the community feels otherwise, I could change my earthcache pages to reflect this 'hard requirement'. Thoughts?

I think this KB article answers your question http://support.Groundspeak.com/Support/ind...kbarticleid=253 If not, please send an email to contact@geocaching.com and we can dig deeper. Thanks for your quick response! Follow-on questions: Will a disabled account still show up on cache page logs (and TB page logs) as having found those caches (if each log wasn't deleted personally)? Will it still be searchable? and will it still have a viewable profile and log history available to the general public?
-
Can one have their own account deleted? (removing any evidence of it's existence...) Is this possible?
-
That was a quick response!

The coord's must be on the cache page, either encoded in a puzzle or posted in the clear. Not exactly. Caches have to have grid coordinates as part of the hunt. The puzzle doesn't have to reveal coordinates, but could reveal other clues on how to proceed. For instance, the posted coords can be bogus and used as only an anchor. A puzzle might describe a particular place to go and spot in which to look. There you find a tag with coordinates on it to punch into the GPS and continue with the hunt. What that segment means is the cache must be solvable without any interaction between the owner and the seeker. Apples and Oranges Your example is still considered to be encrypted coordinates. (and waypoints will still need to be loaded on the page under 'additional waypoints')

Obviously, Groundspeak has grandfathered the Delorme, County and a few other challenges to allow for the emailing of coordinates, so it's great that they are going to take action in your defense! Not to beat a dead horse, but here are some thoughts I had while reading, up to this point: Instead of an email, you could post your phone number! That probably wouldn't get approved either, by you or GS. However, at the posted coords, you could have hidden a wicked hard micro (first stage) with the coordinates to the final stage. Offering to email the hint for this micro to 'those who email you for a hint' (those who complete the challenge). This gets you away from the puzzle/ALR arguement. Either way, it looks as if this situation will end soon. Good luck.

Actually I think it was, "Hey Ya'll. Watch this!" I was practicing my technique to win Colorado's 4x4 Bear Award at the Mountain Luau! You might have some tough competition if Kriskook comes along. Maybe I can win the 4x4 Bear Award with my new Jeep Wagoneer!

That 'hint guideline' isn't enforced by most admins. It is only used as a suggestion to the CO. Good input though, I will read the whole cache page, if the cache is 'off the beaten path'.

I read that already. That thread was meant for posting 'actual' useless hints. Here, I hoped to generate discussion about it. Where, I would prefer a 30 character or less hint for GSAK to upload to my Garmin, under the waypoint's description block. Then try this thread Grievance About Hints and generate more discussion. I'm not sure how 11 pages of useless hints isn't a discussion about useless hints. Now that thread is good read! Too bad we couldn't get a guideline written to govern hints...

How romantic...
