  1. Any chance you guys could make a stamp with an "8" ball, as used in pool/billiards with "UALvolar" underneath? If it's 2 sq in, that'd be great. I'd definitely buy (at least) one and some other stuff it you did. Thanks, Spencer
  2. Hi there, I'd just like some advice and suggestions on a new (primarily geocaching) GPS. Maps are not essential, but I like a good screen, doesn't have to be color. I currently have a Legend whose screen is giving out. My first choices are the GPSMAP 76S, GPS 76, Sportrak Topo. Any Suggestions? Also, can anyone offer any real life experience with their sensor GPSs? I'm trying to decide whether or not that is really necessary. -- [8] Spencer
  3. This just popped into my mind: What about a TB made of that shrinky-dink plastic. That would allow you to personalize it, etc, before you bake it. Just a thought
  4. I think that having an option would be great. My reason is as follows: -for your short-range bugs, use plastic, and vice versa. I put a log in a film canister and placed in a cache in CA with instructions to get in home to me in Reston, VA. Just an experiment. Thanks, Spencer
  5. Thanks alot! I'll call them and update the post with the results.
  6. quote:Originally posted by ZingerHead:I have to put in my $.02 in support of Garmin. I just got my repaired Vista back today. The battery clip had broken off while changing batteries at 5 am in preparation for a day of caching. Not wanting to give up a day's caching I soldered the clip pieces together and it held together for the rest of the day. When I contacted Garmin tech support they mentioned that soldering is generally a good way to void your warranty, but they accepted it for repair. I sent it in with a cranky click stick, a chipped screen, peeling rubber rand, and the aforementioned busted battery clip. I got back a functionally and cosmetically brand new Vista. They even saved my waypoints and maps. I cannot say enough good things about a company that stands by its products so well. But I think I said it best when I went out and bought a yellow Etrex to tide me over while the Vista was in the shop. Never owned a Magellan, and now I never will. I have a Legend and totally agree. I was boating and the lens over the display cracked, and they fixed it for free! It was great, and Garmin is the BEST.
  7. Just wondering if anyone has the same problem with their eTrex Legend: When I am using it, black or blank lines appear on the screen. If I tap the side, the usually go away tempoarily. It sounds like a loose connection to me. Since it is out of warranty, does anyone know how to possibly fix it? Thanks
