I can't recall ever seeing PVC pipe as part of a cache... Doesn't seem wise to do so in a populated area, but I'm sure some suspicion would have been raised with just the Coke can and wire ties...
An Internet treasure-hunting game sparked county-wide panic Friday night and resulted in a bomb squad from Harrisburg being called to Waynesboro to detonate a suspicious device.
Thought this would be of interest to everyone:

We've noticed several people mention "scattering scallops" in their finds -- what does this mean?

Alright, we're very new at this -- only two days! This evening, we tried finding a local cache near a busy road. I'm "sure" it's in near-by shrubs, but how do you tear through them without drawing attention to yourself?!
We just had a full afternoon of geocaching -- our first real adventure at it. We found 4 out of 7 and had a lot of fun. We're using an old Magellan SporTrak (it's got to be AT LEAST 4 years old). Every time we did find a cache today, it was at least 10-15 feet from the GPS. Is that expected, or would a newer GPS give a more accurate reading?
