  1. I put the Invisible Shield on my Oregon 400t and my Nikon 220. I really like the peace of mind know that I can't scratch them. I had a big air bubble when I installed the shield on the Oregon, just peeled it back sprayed more stuff on it and put it back on..no more bubble.
  2. As I'm typing this my 400t with 2.97 is getting 18' accuracy and I'm in the house here in Central Oregon. Not bad for under a roof...
  3. Thanks for the info! Looks like I just need to get the update then.
  4. Is there a way to lock a compass heading so that there will be a course pointer on the compass directing me on that heading? It seems you have to have a destination to get a pointer on the compass, but what if you don't know the destination just the bearing?
  5. Just use the 'Mark Waypoint' button > 'Save and Edit' > 'Change Location' and then hit the check button...done.
  6. Well we used the new 400t today for the first time and I'm liking it. I can see the 24k map in my future as there isn't enough detail in the topo that comes with it when you zoom in close. I upgrade the firmware to the newest version that Garmin has for now. Not sure about the beta versions. I sure like the paperless idea and making comments in the field and then uploading them to the geocaching site is a snap..just awesome!
  7. Just went a picked one up! Now I have to figure out how to use it. Big step from the Garmin Legend and Venture. I see there are lots of updates for the 400t, should I do these ASAP or get to know this thing first?
  8. Well that's the last of them! Thanks to all who purchased these compasses from me. "Welcome to reality!......visit again soon."
  9. I don't see that icon in my ExpertGPS? So we download maps and the program accesses these before it goes to the internet for more?? I love to be confused! "Welcome to reality!......visit again soon."
  10. Expert GPS.....three thumbs up! (can I do that???) The topo and aerials are worth the cost to me hands down. I can't even imagine looking for a cache without Expert GPS now! If you have not tried it....download it. "Welcome to reality!......visit again soon."

  16. I just bought two CamelBaks on Ebay. 69. for a HAWG 59. for a Mule. 9.95 shipping. These military units must be made of GOLD or something????? The ones I looked at didn't seem much better then what I purchased. Or maybe the price from this guy is just over inflated??? My two cents worth. "Welcome to reality!......visit again soon."
  17. I got a great deal on a bunch of Suunto compasses. I put some on Ebay but have lots more. Check them out at my Ebay auction and if you want one let me know, I will make you a great deal just for GeoCachers! Suunto on Ebay "Welcome to reality!......visit again soon."
  18. As Desert_Warrior stated, CamelBak makes everything you need for a quick-disconnect bladder. Use a HydroLink on the hose. You may have to clamp the hose on a bite valve/hydrolink fitting. Not sure if they make a male hose to male hydrolink fitting. CamelBak HydroLink "Welcome to reality!......visit again soon." [This message was edited by oregonature on May 24, 2003 at 09:00 AM.]

  20. I found a cache like that once! Went to a spot and dug up a box and there was a bottle and then the lights went out..........Or was it we found a cache and the bottle was in my Camelbak and then the lights went out???......I can't remember??????? "Welcome to reality!......visit again soon."
  21. I have a cache somewhat like your talking about. I also reference a virtual that is similar. "All Fours" "Welcome to reality!......visit again soon."
  22. Well, we proved it out. Looks like it's going to work out ok. I'll submit it tomorrow. Probably will take about an hour - it's really spooky woods! Sorry Chief, didn't put a CD in it, but we did put in one of our new travel bugs and some other goodies. Criminal - We did some ammo cans as your tutorial suggested. Turned out awesome! Going to do all of ours this way from now on. Used some plastic fern we bought at Fred Meyer for the pattern. Not too many ferns growing in the desert. Thanks for the idea! "Welcome to reality!......visit again soon."
  23. Well we layed out a night cache near Sunriver today. I will be fine tuning it in the next day/night and will submit it for approval this weekend. We have 7 stages and it should take about 45minutes to an hour to complete as long as a Cougar does not jump out and eat you! Oh how we love the dark!!! He, he. "Welcome to reality!......visit again soon."
  24. I use IE to browse this site. Expert GPS to: -Organize my waypoints/caches. -Upload to GPSr -Draw in routes/tracks. -Add road intersection waypoints to maps. -View/print aerials and topographics. "Welcome to reality!......visit again soon."
  25. I shouldn't have drank that second bowl of beer! "Welcome to reality!......visit again soon."
