While in Idaho, near Priest River, I squatted down to expose the cache and just happened to look up and there was the head of a young buck. Looks like he had been there a short while. No odor - but it was early spring. I grabbed the cache, still wondering how this heaqd got to be where it was. Signed the log and exchanged items. I walked around a different way than I had approached the cache and in the water, Priest River?, was the bloated body of what I thought was a moose but it could have been a deer.
So looks like someone was poaching for sure.
I had to move my one cache, Durand's Patent, (in the Sacramento Delta) because another cacher alerted me to the fact that the path used to get in the general location of my cache was being used as a latrine. Human feces. I promptly relocated the cache - but, to fellow cachers, it seems to have lost its luster to go after. Hopefully, cachers will again start visiting the cache.
