  1. I think what no one wants to say is the geocoins went to commercial. It was all about the buck and not the friendship(s). I have a first hand knowledge of this fact. Money. It was easier 2 or 3 years ago to save a little to buy new coins with but now it is hard to even save a little if you know what I mean. Prices. Coins have also gone way up from the 5-6 dollars they once were. Time. Now we all have to spend more time trying to make ends meet and it is summer too. We are still a great group and we have all slowed back from our postings but it happens just about this time every year. Speculators. It appears they have also gone by the way side as the money end has started drying up as well. That is just the tip of the iceburg.
  2. I like it too and we are talking about this at the event forum for the World-Geogathering on July 16-19th this month. We have over 800 acres to play on at one field and about 20 to 30 acres on the other. So there is room to expand and create many type geocaching paintball scenarios. I have already spoken with the big time players and vendors for D-Day and we have quite a following there as well. And support for our endeavor. We have been talking about the position reporting GPS as well I have some other plans that I am working on now with real time geocaching battlefield communications. But that is another project but could be incorporated into the whole game(s).
  3. What an Honorable way to spend your Independence Day. Yet I felt all alone with no Geocaching forum. Happy 4th All. Thanks a Million.
  4. Garmin Rino 530 HCX. It has all you need and more. I have just got one and it is awesome. It is like the others with a geocaching function in it as well like the Colorado and Oregon. You can find them on sale now for less than 400.

  6. Hey buddy, how ya been? Good questions. Can not wait to see the reply. I was wondering on all the new right of way micro's I been seeing pop up everywhere. Where do you get permission for Right of Way?
  7. I will let you google it. But the GPS Trackmaker program has an option to find duplicate placemarks or names or vicinity. It is awesome program and have used it longer than any other and also more often. It is more versatile than any other program and it is free. OH well here it is. GPS Trackmaker You can also load your GPS into it to see which points you have. Make maps and tracks to search out geocaches and hard to find places. Make sure to download the North America Map as well. It is not that detailed but will help tremendously for a newbie. You can export almost any type of file for one KML for Google Earth. GPX,LOC,Ozie,MapSource, just to name a few.

  17. From GSAK you can send(export) GPX?LOC and change the %code to %Name. Or %Name%code%hint. There are many options. You can build a custom exporst using tags.
  18. Received my package today. Awesome medal. Now I will have to start a new collection. Thanks again for everything.
  19. I use GPS Trackmaker. The 530 also should open a Map Source file when you turn it on. You can download GPX files into both and then send to GPS. This includes Waypoints,Tracks and Routes. You can also text message with it and many other things. But my favorite program is GPS Trackmaker Edit: GSAK will aslo write GPX files. Use the export button. You can add all the details you want in GSAK before you send it.
