We spent 2 1/2 years doing the Signature Events across the USA. I got a few of them off the list. But still have a long way to go. Make sure and check out the Waymarks around these as well. I have added the WM # to a few of my bookmark lists.

Welcome Justin. I would find a few before hiding one. I do not think the phones are that accurate but may be wrong. Find a few first and see how close it gets. You will learn as you go.

I am in Missouri and as long as you got the proper OK. I will be glad to hide one in the Ozarks somewhere.

Come rain shine sleet or hail nothing will stop your geocache log mail. And the AlabamaRambler is right. I have lost all signal once inside the cave. That reminds me of that old geocache. Lost Signal!

Welcome fellow Texan. I know of another Officer who lives in Texas who is a Geocacher. You just might be surprised who is. Maybe you could set one up to cache all the muggles and get them off the streets. -
I have a hunting buddy who has shot himself a golf. He has 2 golf balls sitting there on his mantle with all the other trophies. Don't know why but I would have stuffed the whole thing.

Are there any caches placed by royalty?
GEO*Trailblazer 1 replied to jakobjv's topic in General geocaching topics
Why of course. I am Royalty. I am King of Caching. Not really but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. And I guess you could say we do go back to some Blue Blood. But we came to America to avoid having to answer to a King(Patriarch) or Queen(Matriarch). Just had too ya know. -

Differences between a Benchmarker and a Geocacher
GEO*Trailblazer 1 replied to topflitejr1's topic in Benchmarking
Well GEOCAC has placed 5. I do not think we "Own" them though as they are now or will become a part of the system. We collectively have a part in them though and we can say we are a part of Benchmarking History. -
Do surveyors/engineers/construction workers pay attention?
GEO*Trailblazer 1 replied to Harry Dolphin's topic in Benchmarking
I think it should be mandatory and in some places it is the County Surveyors responsibility. But from what I have seen they do not maintain the NGS marks in this area. I think heavier fines should be imposed for destruction of marks and followed through on. I also feel this should be incorporated into the training of any new survey student. I have always had this question ... If a Surveyor does not tie to a higher standard mark(1st 2nd or 3rd Order) how can he claim that his lower than 3rd order survey is within 6 feet? -
Differences between a Benchmarker and a Geocacher
GEO*Trailblazer 1 replied to topflitejr1's topic in Benchmarking
Lets see when I started there were very few geocaches in my area. So I decided to go for the benchmarking portion. Then as I was placing geocaches ll over in great places rules changed a little and could not place them in far off places. It was apparent that a new type of game needed to happen then came Waymarking.....now I can mark all those distant places. I love mapping,I am a technician, and associate member in the SWC MSPS and working on GIS in our area. I think they are all related in some fashion but each has it's own pleasures. So I guess I am a Benchmarking Geocaching Waymaking guru.LOL!! -
We are looking for a few good JEEPS. We are planning a Jeep Cache Challenge for 2010. Anyone interested in an awesome event PM me.

Weird cache containers
GEO*Trailblazer 1 replied to POLE POSITION's topic in General geocaching topics
I will not give them away but................ You can look at my caches and see the names are used to find the innocent. Some are well devious I have been told. Custom Cache containers. I make everything. And then I have the easy ones. -
I use the binders and the baseball card holders. I use Clear heavy duty packing tape to seal them off so they don't come out.

Cointest - GC down! What did you do?
GEO*Trailblazer 1 replied to Just a Trifle's topic in Trackables
I went Geocaching of course. I had my PDA loaded and GPS full of points and hit the road to one that had been giving me a fit. I found it finally and it was a new 5 Star for me. Then I went on for a long drive down south of me and hit a few others that were a long way apart but needed to thin off the map. Had a great day geocaching to come home to UH OH!!!!!!!!!! Where is it? What happened? Did I get banned or something? OH the endless possibilities and the waiting to log the new caches of the day. So all in all I made the best of it. Next day things were back to normal Whew!!!!!
