  1. If you get a nice day , there are a bunch of downtown caches that can all be done on foot. Park the car over by the Landing (I think that's what it's called) on the riverfront and go from there. You will get a nice walking tour of downtown St.Louis and get to find a bunch of caches. You will cover about 4 miles on foot but well worth it. If you get a chance, do the Chain of Rocks Cache and the nearby virtual Above the Trees & Mississippi. I really enjoyed those two.
  2. The ignore feature works well but you still see the avatar so you know that that person posted something. Then it temps you with the link to view that post. I would have thought if you are ignoring a person then you wouldn't see anything, like they don't exist. The other thing I noticed is if another person quotes your ignored person, you will see their post in their quotes. So it's really not a true ignore, more like a (place fingers in ears and yell) "NANANANANANANA I'm not listening to you" thing.
  3. My Feb. Poker Chips are ready... Not sure if green will be the color chip I wil use. I may mix them up since the design looks decent on a few different color chips.
  4. Thought about this one for a while. NHL arenas excluded. Looking for the local places where anybody can skate.
  5. Not sure if this has been proposed before but this could be a fun catagory. Putt Putt golf is a great family activity. Marking the course would be neat and handy.
  6. I think race tracks would be a great catagory. There are lots of little local tracks all over the country that would be neat to visit and learn about. Allowing the major tracks (Daytona, Darlington, Indy etc...) would be a nice addition. Horse and/or dog tracks can or should be a separate catagory IMHO.
  7. I have a new question... Is it possible to transfer a GPX file directly into the POI folder and have them show just as regular POI's? I have tried it and it says a file is there but when I open the folder to view the waypoints(POI's) it is empty. I am not using the eXplorist software as I would for loading them up as geocaches. The limit of 200 geocaches per file is the only thing that irks me about the eXplorist. I guess what I'm really trying to do is view more that 200 at one time. If they are saved as POIs instead of geocaches, then it should be possible, right? Or am I wrong?
  8. A cache I hunted yesterday is in a very haunted section of woods near Chicago. Previous finders claimed the same GPSr issues I had. Bachelor's Grove and the surrounding woods are said to be one of the most haunted places in our area. NoLemon's 1000th is near the cemetery as well as Ghost stories: Bachelor's Grove which is actually in the cemetery. My cache May 25, 1979 is in a supposed haunted location. Read about the hauntings here. Those are just a few in the Chicago area. One of my favorite Haunted Caches is CYBret's The Witch's Grave. The drive to the cemetery is creepy. Really neat place and story behind it.
  9. No problem doing that. I have doen that a few times already. Now with the new deature that shows the tag # on the TB page, I can release the other TB's that have gone missing (since I lost the copy tags along the way) with a new item.
  10. I have mine in my possession. It was given back to me at GeoBash. It's been retired and put into my geo stuff collection.
  11. I say keep the dadgum name. If it's you then don't worry about it. Screw 'em! Come on... I'm Special Ed... imagine the looks I get sometimes... But it does fit
  12. Thanks.. I thought I might have done something stupid like that. DOH!
  13. I have an unactivated Delaware Coin but I either lost the activation code or tossed it out with the packaging. I tried geocoinclub.com but it apparenty is not being done by them. Any help would be great. Thanks.
  14. Well I have nothing tech related to offer but I just used the new firmware on a weekend trip and it was excellent. Not having to keep a paper list of found caches was great. Didn't have to do any projections so I'm not sure how well it works but so far so good on the updates. Love it!
  15. January 2006 Poker Chips ready....
  16. I see somebody is still a little bitter about something. Time to move on, don't you think? BTW... CoD doesn't drink beer.
  17. FallenFaery and I spent the weekend in St.Louis and saw Bruce S in many log books prior to us. Go Bruce.. Go!! BTW... we really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks to all the St.Louis cachers for hiding excellent caches.
  18. I have a Baseball Bat . I had all who "found" it sign. It's full so it's been retired... it's going to be morphed into a hockey stick soon.
  19. Well I have done it and here the story if you care to read. I think I would have to change it to... "The Fonz" AAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY !
  20. Hmm.. seems a certain person as a few faces depending on what he or she is philosophically opposed to... Nice to see it's ok for a certain person to delete logs but others get mocked for it even if it is wrong. Nice example for an approver/mod to set for the rest.
  21. Very cool coins there elgeko. Would you be interested in trading for a set of my poker chips? Any of the sig items in this thread would be nice. PM me if anybodys wants to trade.
