  1. It appears that you cannot add a favorite point after the fact. It says it adds it, but when you refresh the page, it is gone. I had to delete my log and add it again, assigning the FP as part of the log. Not such a minor bug!
  2. It appears as if the zip code to coordinates lookup is not working. If I put in a zip code and press "GO", it used to update the coordinates boxes with the proper coordinates. It no longer does that. Is there some way we can get someone at Groundspeak to look at this?
  3. Darn. I've used up my five queries and have a big hole in my radius.
  4. It appears that the PQs for 1000 caches update the date run, but do not replace any previously run PQ.... so the data is a previous run. Looks like temporarily we will be doing the 500 cache PQs... that still works.
  5. The same thing happened to me a couple of months ago. I don't believe it is the battery that is no longer any good. I believe that the charger fried the components in the gps. I hope someone learns otherwise. I really loved my eXplorist 600.
  6. You mentioned that tthe geocaches are physically on the card, but are not showing up. By that, do you mean that you do not see any geocaches listed when you press the "goto" button? If that is the case, then I would believe that the GPSr is looking in the internal memory for the geocache list. To change the default to where you have your file, simply press "Menu", "Preferences", "Active Setup" and then look at the bottom line to see where the GPSr is looking for the cache listing. Scroll down to that line and press "enter", "Select File", find the file by pressing "Up One Level" until you see SD card.... then go looking for your file. Hope that works for you. Happy Fathers Day!
  7. Bowlr, Which model do you have? Try running the macro twice. It may fail the first time, but run properly the second.
  8. Try cleaning the contacts on the gps. Also make sure the pins are all floating and not stuck.
  9. I believe it only happens (invalid file) on the Nuvi 350. There is probably some variable that isn't being initialized the first run of the macro. As a workaround, until the problem is resolved, you may want to run a subset just to set the variable. The advanced macro does not have this problem.
  10. You may get additional life out of the unit if you carefully open the unit and clean the circuit board contacts with cotton swab and alcohol. Additionally, you could try an erasure on the contacts. Be very careful not to pull the flexible circuit off the display. You will see what I mean when you get it open.
  11. A point of clarification, please. When you press GOTO/Geocache Pts/Position, does the next screen show the list of geocaches that you are expecting? If it DOES NOT, then you need to set your default by pressing Menu/Active Map/Geocaches to the file containing the geocaches. Sorry if this is a waste of bandwidth, but that's all I can think of.
  12. You are correct. It does work that way. No idea either what the problem is. Maybe PilotSnipes can figure it out.
  13. I will try that the next time I run it and get back with the results.
  14. Try limiting the number of caches on the next filter. I don't know if it is a lack of memory problem or a bad record, but I get them as well. I've had as many as 1200 caches on my 350, but now I has to keep it smaller or I get the same error as you. I'm thinking bad record somewhere, but I've also got a favorites file on there that I keep growing... albeit more slowly. so I can't rule out lack of memory. Gut feel though.... bad record.

  16. Too bad, I think I've seen that type of thing when there was a problem with the SD format. You pull the SD card and it starts right up.... What about the possibility of the backlight burned out or whatever.... Did you try the left hand button to see if anything happens?
  17. Probably not any help, but did you pull the SD card and try to turn it on?
  18. Out of warranty solution.... CAREFULLY open the unit enough to get an erasure inside to clean the contacts where the keypad meets the circuit board. This should help.... at least it did for me.
  19. Doesn't anyone else see the benefits of knowing the coordinates are actually corrected coordinates? How do you keep track of puzzle/mystery coordinates? The simplest method may be to just change the color of the coordinates if they have been corrected... or added a field CC:Y or CC:N. It is better than relying on memory whether you've solved the puzzle or not.
  20. Would it be possible to identify whether GSAK is using the "corrected coordinates?" As I solve puzzles and come up with new coordinates, I use the corrected coordinates field in GSAK. It is easy to see which puzzles I have solved this way.
  21. At the risk of giving away the farm, Geos of the Jungle has provided the easiest method to determine existing GZ caches. No fuss, no bother. I suggest that we go with that. In fact, it works so well that I am not changing a thing on my cache page. Thanks Geos.
  22. I just checked to see if I could get the proper coordinates for our Ground Zeros and Ones cache. I was successful using the "Zip Code & Google Maps" GZ method, so I will put the cache back in play and update the cache page accordingly. Brewer
  23. Thanks, I will do the same. BTW, the parts are interchangeable... even the door if you don't mind two-tone.
  24. We loved our eXplorist600. It was extremely accurate, worked well if you were ok with the slingshot effect and worked with most of our existing software. The 3-axis compass eliminated a lot of arguments as to which way to head. Now that the eXplorist line is dead, it looks like I won't be able to get a keypad membrane to replace the one that is damaged at the joystick. Perchance is there anyone that has a defunct eXplorist out there that could send me the membrane from their's? They should all be the same size. I guess I am rough on them because this is the second one we've gone through.
  25. I would like to find out which travel bugs went into what caches in a selected area/state during a selected period of time. I can envision this to be very much like the normal cache pocket query. Is there anything currently available? Is it possible that TPTB could make such a PQ offer available?
