  1. For those of you who are wondering, Intercourse, PA is about 6 miles SSW of Blue Ball, PA. . Between Lancaster and Philly.
  2. What could you name a cache in Intercourse, PA. Yes the town does exist? Just checked, there are 3 with that word in the name, should they be banned? I think not!
  3. I tried to look at some geocache photos today, if there was a single photo for the date the photo won't diisplay, just a blue box. If ther are more than one photo for the date the photos display normaly. Is this a problem with my computer or a site problem?
  4. For you lazy cachers, at gander mt. A plastic water bottle that comes with swag. One with items for survival, another with items for hunters, each has about eight to ten items. Alittle camo tape or paint and instant geocache. Oh and the cost is only about $10.00. Like I said quick, easy and cheap.
  5. Concealed mostly, ina belt holster under a light jacket or coat or in a pocket holster for my Bersa 380.
  6. In the school where I teach, the kids are the ones showing the underwear (I will be sooooo glad when the "sagging" craze finally goes away. I am tired of telling people to pull up their pants and even more tired of seeing their underwear when they don't! No worse than walking thru the woman's dept. of any store. Does anyone have a problem with taking their youngsters into the women's departments.
  7. Was that the "Geocache" documentary talked about in that thread? The Geocaching program will be on again tonight 1-13-2007 at 10:30 PM EST on WPSU. Check www.wpsu.org for other times. I'll be watching and recording, just in case I happen to miss it.
  8. Whose to say that the next cacher to find it won't place a forbidden object in the cache as a trade item.
  9. I've been using Energizer NiMH batteries for over a year now, still going strong. Four batteries and a charger can be used at home or in the car so I'm covered most of the time.
  10. Nice to see where we fit into this "family".
  11. Try some wire used for beading, braclets, necklaces, Comes in diffrent sizes, stainless steel and plastic coated. Pick up some crimping rings too.
  12. I could not Agree with you More Ghengis Jon. I am fairly new to these forums and Geocaching, and All I see on these forums is people complaining about this or that... Being a victim in one way or another. Poor me. I am offended! I dont like this, I dont like that! Logs that say co ords are 10m off!? All the Negativity! Cry me a river why dont you! Now for the contradiction: Personally, I dont like the Negativity, People that winge about the smallest things, people being holier than thou, Religeous and Political Propoganda, Micro's, Puzzle caches, the price of fuel. Poor me. I am offended by these things.... WHO CARES!!!! Stop burdening the rest of us about your insignificant nonsense. Stop whining and go Caching! Well said, triptrick, well said.
  13. How can you claim to FIND a cache when you knew where it was because you saw the owner hide it. There was nothing to FIND because you knew excatly where it was!
  14. Downloaded the plugin from Garmin, connected my Legend, works like a charm.
  15. That's a happy ending story, Glad you you made it back and was able to read your compass. It's stories like this that make me wish I hadn't been sleeping thru the compass part when I was in Boy Scouts. I use the compass on mu GPSr to guide me to the cache, but honestly have no clue on how to use a compass on it's own and can't understand how a stand alone compass can help achieve that goal. Does anyone know of a course I can take on-line, or information that can provide me with enough training so I can use a real compass? It's geocacheing that has me wanting this and could just possible save me too. I get in the mountains quite a bit, always mark my truck before I head out. So far no problems, but I can see where I could easily get lost if I got turned around and lost Sat's. Appreciate any advice. Try finding a local orienteering club (like geocaching but using only a map and compass), some of thier web sites have basic compass and map reading instructions.
  16. There is one thing I haven't seen mentioned in the getting started pages, and that's critters that may have taken up residence in the stump or hollew log or in the crack in the rock where the cache may be hidden. Be careful, check that the cache site is unoccupied be for you reach in. Critters can bite, and tetnus or rabies shots are no fun. Now go out there and have a good time.
