  1. I don't think that all yanks live in New York at all.... Manhatten would sink. My mother is from the US and I have been to the states on a number of occasions. I certainly do NOT think that all yanks live in New York!!! Sorry, thats not what I meant. Its just that the only place in the USA listed on the monuments page is in New York... therefore the only place in the whole of the USA to go and collect a coin.
  2. In the same way that all the yanks live in New York eh? Well, i'll start the positive responses... YAY!! It just so happens that I have wednesday off, and am meeting some friends in London that evening!! Fingers Crossed.
  3. I'd planned for this to be my 300th however i slight miscalculation in numbers meant that I wasn't in the area at the right time. instead I think it'll be WWFM London on Saturday.
  4. Sadly I can't make this now due to 'family commitments'. Hopefully it will be a success and i'll b able to make repeat events in the future. Have fun all!
  5. It was worth making "the cheeseist horror film of all time" even just to lure us fools into the woods on the first night and run at us with a chainsaw!! I hope more people do watch it and do the cache, even without the 'embelishments' its a good cache to do!
  6. Although not a long multi/trad this one will be a worthy milestone if you were to find it. Not As It Seems near Southampton has beaten me on 2 occasions and others more than that. If you were to pop down and find it on your first visit then you'd have something to celebrate!
  7. Ahem. One thing I just noticed, although I shouldn't think it'll change the yay/nah: On the rear the text has a black outline however on the front it doesn't. I'm sure in the manufacturing there will be some kind of outline but the rear text looks clearer to me and I think they should probably be the same. Good work and lets hope they like it!
  8. Geocaching University has a few promotional sheets/cards that can be downloaded from: http://www.geocacher-u.com/resources/index.html#downloads They were used at the Swindon Event in the summer where we were promoting and introducing muggles at the show to Geocaching and the brochure seemed to be very well recieved.
  9. I've only once felt uncomfortable i na graveyard. That was this time last year at about 9pm, searching for George Orwells grave by the light of a rather strong torch. I'm amazed no one popped out of their house to find out what on earth we were doing in a graeyard at night....
  10. I've just got to work following a visit to a local graveyard to take some photos. They can be strangely interesting & peaceful places. I also recently placed a cache that involves visiting a grave, however that is someone of interest that not many people realise had been buired there. This makes it interesting and the ladies tidying the church and graveyard seems happy that people were looking around their graveyard.
  11. I'm liking the new design, much more positive!! Looking forward to gettin gone of these!!
  12. I have to say I think that the union jack coffin graphic is just a little full on and slightly spoils it for me. I like the idea of the text on the rear (as on the previous design, however with the "At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them" text instead.
  13. 201 - 'Didn't know this was here'
  14. I'm quite keen on version 2. Although I like the idea of incorprating 11/11/11 etc it makes Coin 3 look a little lop-sided. If the rear hasn't been designed yet, could these dates not be incorporated on there? I'd also be happy to pre-order one. (Reposted as me this time!!)
  15. No comment on times etc. Any ideas? Also I suspect that they will give them out to anyone and everyone so, just like the TBs, many will go to muggles...!?!
  16. This cache was great fun last night! The pumpkin lanterns were a nice touch. Unlike Mr Dewdrop I did take my camera and even videoed our way through the woods, however once we found the cache it was off in our pocket when the Chainsaw Massacre occurred, so missed the good bit Thanks for organising this, and the cache is well worth doing even without the madmen in the woods!
  17. I'm a Mac user however use my partners PC for cache related working. Infact I just got a free laptop from a friend to do so. Couldn't get my Legend to connect to the mac so went with PC. With GSAK, Memory Map, Map Source all on the PC it was too limiting to stay on the mac. Wouldn't swap it for a PC full time though!!!!
  18. Now i've had a chance to think about it, how about a themed version of my usual...
  19. Changed as always. Edit to say that its not that large as my Avator, sorry.
  20. Brilliant, much better!!
  21. Yeah, fair enough. It does slow it down but I have to admit its much better to be able to get an overview of an area than before when you reached the limit before you'd zoomed out much bigger than a reasonable sized town. The new icons are not great, I preffered the boarderless version but it does now show the disabled caches. I can't say i'd noticed that the selective check boxes had changed. Being a PM and seeing the box round them now I'd assumed they had always been that way. Bit of a tease to include them then take them away from the non PMs!
  22. How do you mean? The last incarnation stopped showing caches once you had a view over 15miles, this now shows all the caches in the map area, a much better viewer than before!
  23. Cheers folks, i'm off for a week so will take a look when I get back! Thanks
  24. Hi, I'll probably be there for the event, however can't guarentee being around to go caching during the day. I can however recommend heading to Regents Park for the caches there. There are some good caches (including the biggest i've found yet!). Hope to see you at the event!
  25. Thats the one i've been trying to convert. When I add the coords to that page it gives a difference answer to my php version of the same script...?!?
