  1. If the only benefit of a Premium Membership was Pocket Queries, it would still be worth the money.
  2. If you log the finds with the same account but sing the logs with different names, you can sort them with GSAK to find the actual number of finds for each of you. That is IF it matters to you. Like others have said, do it whatever way you want and enjoy yourselves.
  3. You do know that you have to tell GDAK where to look for the data, right ? open GDAK and then go to settings and then database location Wow, I'm late in replying to this but I had forgotten all about this thread. Sorry if my reply was taken as condescending. That wasn't my intention. Yes people come to the forums looking for help and often they get wise remarks or worse. I didn't mean anything like that. I just wanted to eliminate the obvious before getting to a more involved solution to the problem. Most of the time when threads like this one are posted, the OP is a newer cacher who might not know the obvious.

Silly me. I was so excited to see that the original poster was from my immediate area that I missed the garmin etrex 20 in the original post. I am very close to Gardner, Mass , but I have no experience with that device.

What type of gps do you have ? Also, you might want to post this question to the New England thread here http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showforum=19
  6. Wow that must be printed on some heavy paper. The shipping weight is 1 pound.
  7. Pretty much any android tablet will run an app called GDAK which allows you to view your GSAK databases on a more portable device.
  8. Not yet. It will be coming out the first part of the month. Any news on which month 8^)
  9. If this one is no longer available, you can check out another 60CS on ebay. The price is a little higher but... http://www.ebay.com/itm/230851192835?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 This isn't my listing. I'm just posting this for info.
  10. If he did... he would be the top cacher in the world with an asterisk mark beside his name. Would I care? Nope, but I will be laughing at him for years to come. I wouldn't care either, but he wouldn't have logged every cache in the world anyway because I would have deleted his bogus logs as part of the maintenance I agreed to perform on my cache listings. I don't think that there is any requirement for cache owners to physically CHECK the paper logs against the online logs.
  11. I use chrome and i have always been able to highlight something, right click and search for the selected text. And yes, it is fairly reliable at finding the cache page when I search for the gc#.
  12. I don't think the the 60CSX can handle a plain old gpx file can it ? If it can then I've been doing things the hard way (GSAK) for the 4 years that I've owned mine. Actually GSAK isn't all that hard, but just dropping in a gpx file would be easier.
  13. this is exactly right. If he logged every cache in the world from his arm chair it wouldn't effect me in the least
  14. you could also check out this other thread in the GPS garage sale http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=301285
  15. Yes, if we all went caching together, we could all log with her phone.
  16. I don't particularly like sticking my hand in dark places (inside hollow trees, under big rocks etc) so I often turn the flash on on my. camera and take a picture or 4 if I suspect the cache might be in places like that. If the picture shows the cache, THEN I will debate whether I will put my hand in or find another way to retrieve the cache
  17. I may be wrong but I don't think that the housings for the 60CSX and the 60cs are identical. I know that the csx has an opening under the batteries for a micro sd card. Does the 60cs have the same opening ? That being said, if you want to sell the 60csx emtfire10 and the OP doesn't want it, I may be interested in your unit for spare parts. pm me if you are interested
  18. I think that when you transfer your GSAK databases from your pc to your tablet/phone you need to copy the whole database directory. One other thing that isn't made obvious is that you need to make sure that whichever database you are copying, cannot be the active database if GSAK is running. It makes it easier if GSAK is not running when you make the transfer. For example, if the GSAK database that you want to transfer is called "closest" in GSAK, make another database active in GSAK (or close out of GSAK), then got to the GSAK/data directory and select the "closest" folder and copy it to your tablet/phone
  19. first you should understand what the typical types of caches are. Check Here for a quick explanation.
  20. It works for Android devices too.
  21. I solved my version of this problem by removing a couple of the geocache oriented extentions that I had installed for google chrome.
  22. Maybe I'll send them to a friend in Texas. They have very big guard rails down there.
  23. When I first open up the map, hovering over the cache icons pops up the cache title and clicking on the icon, gives me the information bubble. But if I try to filter anything (for example, turn off my finds, or exclude multi-caches) the cache names and information bubbles will not show up no matter how much I hover. Refreshing the screen restores functionality like when I first opened the map.
