  1. The recently added notification features seem to have broken the old function which notified the owner of a cache that their cache had been found. Two of my caches have finds logged in the past couple of days, but I have not received the normal e-mail "find" message. Can someone look into this???? So now ya know.... Kemosabe
  2. I carry a couple of things not yet mentioned. A small bell and some pepper spray. As I often go geocaching in the San Francisco east bay hills by myself, I have taken to placing the small bell on my day pack so it dingles as I go along because I don't want to startle any large animals which may be nearby. Large animals like mountain lion, which ARE in the area but will usually get out of your way if they know you're there. The other large animals, like someone that has a meth lab set up in some remote area visited mostly by geocacher types. Hopefully, they will lay low, until you have passed if they hear you coming. The pepper spray is for if they don't. CCW permits in Kalifornia are almost impossible to get but, oh well, as they say, "It's better to be judged be twelve than carried by six"

    New Feature

New Feature! I would like to be the first to applauded the addition of "cache type" to the description for new caches recently posted on geocaching.com. Personally, as I am not fond of micros, the new information will be a great help in my selection process. WELL DONE!!!
  4. I downloaded the sticker image from geocaching.com for free and can print it out any size I want and place it on the cache container with wide transparent tape. Works great.
  5. Purchased my SporTrak 4/2003 D/C 3902. Hairline crack on each side of faceplate at the center screws. So now ya know....
  6. I guess I'm a lurker. I've been geocaching for a couple of years and watching the forums for almost as long. Perhaps, someday, I may have a comment to add but until then, I will follow the old saying, that "Silence is the only acceptable substitute for brains".
