  1. I did explain to him the difference and I thought he understood. I’ve tried to explain the rules but still doesn’t understand. But instead he deleted 3 more of my finds. Letting HQ deal with it.i repaired the cache already yesterday about an hour after he posted it.
  2. Did that but they may not respond til after the weekend. Last finder did not mention any cache issue.
  3. a newish cacher is deleting my cache finds on his caches he claims I can’t use a stamp, I can only use a pen. Partially stems because he recently claimed a find on one of mine when he admitted there was no logsheet and put a Needs Archive cause it was missing part of my container, so I deleted his find log.
  4. He has lots of help with his site. Could he give permission for others to continue with updates and such.
  5. I used to find caches like this but haven't in years as it's all about the numbers and not about enjoying them.
  6. Long time ago they used to not allow multiple trackables with the same number because of arguements and confusion of who had the original and where it was. I ran into some new ones and when I reported it, it seems they don't care. Should make them discoverable only to stop the confusion.
  7. Seems when you go to the Facebook page and then click to sign up (I was just curious) that it isn’t the same site it sends you somewhere else so this seems like a complete scam or misdirection
  8. PlanetEarthE13 This account is logging finds and Will Attends but their logs is a link to ask you to sign up for their Facebook page. I did report this to HQ but wanting to confirm if this is a against the TOU. Maybe get this fast tracked by a lackey.
  9. I have an evil cache, when I started getting logs saying it was easy I realized there was a thrown down. It’s hard to tell when previous finders didn’t mention why a 3 difficulty was so easy. I did deleted the logs and asked the pervious finders to relog that they got permission and they didn’t realize it was a throw down. Some actually on their own went back to resign because they wanted to experience the 3 difficulty. I understand if you can’t tell on an easier cache. On one of mine recently someone found two caches. I quickly posted a note on which one wasn’t mine and if they sign it after that date I would delete their log. The throwdown was retrieved and I posted the photo of the logsheet. Two cachers signed after I posted the note. But they never logged it.
  10. I found enough caches to get about 250 points. The rest came from my own caches getting Favs. With so many trying to find caches with Favs are pushing the numbers of Favs up on those caches that have 5 or more.
  11. niraD I was with him when he did the ET Highway along with Materus and cacher from Nevada. Took us 3 days to do it. Along with other type of caches. We didn't leapfrog or 3 cache monte. But I mentioned this over years, doing this is mind bending. At first it was fun until it became monotonous with asking "are we done yet?" To me the most enjoyable parts were finding baby lizards under stack of rocks. As for the OP no offense, but if you just do it for the enjoyment why do you care what other cachers do?
  12. A semi new cacher logged finds on about 5 of mine and when I was in the area I checked them. All but one were actually signed. So I deleted those logs. The cacher asked me why I deleted them. I told them and they responded they didn't have a "writing untensil". I let them know they have to sign the log sheet. I also said I would except mud, blood or photo of the logsheet. I would have excused them if it weren't that about 50% of their find logs on other caches also said they didn't have a pen. They asked me if they have to go back and sign the caches of mine. I told them that is how you play the game. But noticed they recently are still logging caches that they didn't have a pen and some with photos of the logsheets. I would give them a pen but you wonder why after being called on it they haven't gotten one to use all the time.
  13. To me 20' is acceptable but 40', 100', or more is not

    Wherigo down

Has anyone noticed that the Wherigo is down or how long it's been that way? I was trying to update my cartridge and I couldn't get on it.
  16. I recently cleaned up a friends cache because someone came by and put dog poop in the local caches. This seems like an angry mischievous cacher or a muggle who signed up to just ruin them.
  17. start with 1- 1 1/2 difficulty ratings. 3 things I start with first. 1. Highlight the page to see if there are any hidden text (white on white) 2. Check the page source, look for green type in the body copy. 3. Reverse image search.
  18. I used to have bigger caches but muggles, newbies who don't know how to play, and over overgrown areas of poison oak make it difficult. I had a regular size that I had to keep reducing the size to a nano because of muggles.
  19. I delete them when I can prove it. Like if they aren't part of a group, I double check if they logged the wrong date or signed in the back. What I hate is "found it but didn't have a pen" without showing anything else like photo or using something else to sign it. Also when cachers sweep the area who came from another location. Like a bunch called " 9 swedes" came through and I checked and they did stamp mine. But one single cacher from Europe claimed 2 of my hides and didn't see his name on the logs. I deleted both, one he claimed by using hints from previous finder's logs to use to prove he found it such as that it was at eye level. I responded that the cache was replaced before he claimed the find and I didn't see his name, then he claimed he must have found the lost cache. That would be impossible because the tree was trimmed and the branch it was zipped tied on was removed.
  20. I log needs maintenance but sometimes I just send a message directly to the CO. Hate be a skeptic but I believe sometimes cachers seek caches that need maintenance and log them as finds because it can't be prove they didn't find them.
  21. No it’s not. http://www.ebparks.org/activities/geocaching/ we already had one of the parks kick all the caches out
  22. We here in the East Bay Area try to keep the peace with the parks and their rules. But how does the reviewers keep up and the newbies who don’t know rules apply in the parks they put them at. There is a new cache that came up by a lake. Rule says it has to be more than 100ft from water source. I was reminded another one we found just a few feet from a lake. Should I contact the reviewer or CO?
  23. If ALRs are not allowed why is this requiring you answers?
  24. Do you live in an area that doesn't require a permit to have a Free Library? Around here it costs about $500+ in permit fees. I brought this up once about how some people own their Free Library, or some businesses, organizations etc. But I've seen many caches show up in these Free Libraries without asking the owners permission to place them. One in my area a new cacher placed one in a FL and it went missing. She disabled it to get a new cache. After replacing it, it went missing again. Over and over, thinking a cacher or muggle was taking them. I asked the cache owner if they asked the FL owner. The CO never responded back. The cache was archived. I see many Free Libraries and have been tempted to put caches in them but never did, but with permission I can see how these are great places to go.
