  1. We know some have heard that Cat (the real talent on our team) has done an original oil painting of a famous (or infamous) local geocaching icon for the Ocotillo Raffle. The identity of the subject will be revealed as the painting is won at the Ocotillo Campout. Although we fear there may be some speculation (Harmon, M2, Trailgator, Flagman, et al), we could not resist posting a picture of the work in progress. Original Oil Painting of San Diego Geocaching Icon
  2. So tell us, is it true that pieces of each card are hidden individually and you must find all the pieces to the puzzle before you can assemble one card ? That would be the way Paul would have designed it.
  3. The only other advice would be, if you drive in from the west, you should drive past several of the caches and you will find a small road that cuts back closer to the cache. This can save you several hikes (and time).
  4. WOW 5,000 THAT IS HUGE. IMAGINE HOW MANY YOU WILL HAVE WHEN YOU START CACHING NORTH OF I-8. CONGRATULATIONS
  5. Jodi, we can't beleive you consider dinner with John a vacation, that's why everyone is speechless
  6. Way to go Fat Cats, we cats need to stick together to keep up with all those "dog cachers"
  7. This has nothing to do with Harmon or his lesson 16 (but maybe??) A bus carrying only ugly people crashes into an oncoming truck, and everyone inside dies. As they stand at the Pearly Gates waiting to enter Paradise and meet their maker, God decides to grant each person one wish because of the grief they have experienced. They're all lined up, and God asks the first one what the wish is. "I want to be gorgeous," and so God snaps His fingers, and it is done. The second one in line hears this and says "I want to be gorgeous too." Another snap of His fingers and the wish is granted. This goes on for a while with each one asking to be gorgeous, but when God is halfway down the line, the last guy in the line starts laughing. When there are only ten people left, this guy is rolling on the floor, laughing his head off. Finally, God reaches this last guy and asks him what his wish will be. The guy eventually calms down and says: "Make 'em all ugly again."
  8. Congrats, Cat & Bobby. Now that's a nice picture! Way to go Cat & Bobby on 500 PS hope I didn't get you in trouble Thanks for all the attention, We are walking in the shadow of Caching Giants, but the well wishes are much appreciated. Our real goal is to someday achieve the coveted "Team Exclamation Point" status and Skillet, I'm always in trouble, I think Cat keeps it that way to keep me in line
  9. CONGRATS HARMON ON MAKING 3K, But it seems like you made more noise doin it than others Your still our hero
  10. I WILL NEVER FORGET HIS LOG'S!!!! Yrium was a great man!!!! He did the best log's that I have ever read... I remember the first time he wen't to my cache. It took him two log's to write " THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD"!!!!!!! End of the LINE (GCH7J2) 11/16/03 THANKS FATTBOY You are right, that has to be one of the best logs ever written for a cache find. If you read that, it will be hard to justify ever writing TNLNSL as an entry. He set the standard pretty high.
  11. I didn't know that Team Reid used to do magic tricks? Finally Kathy's past has come to light, although she still has some of that fire.
  12. And as a San Diego representative, I can attest that it is not Jodi's fault , she is a darlin girl with only pure caching fun on her mind . Hope to see you guys up in Tahoe next weekend, even John
  13. ...... What a handsome dude hanging with the babes! He kinda looks like Bill Clinton, I wouldn't trust him if I were you.
  14. We did part of the Carveacre/Gaskil trail today It was about at this point we realized we were already on our second bottle of water and temps were already over 80 As we ran out of water we starting seeing colors Probably should have quit, but... We think this trail is probably a 3 bottle trail as temps heat up.
  15. Cat and I are going out to Carveacre on Thursday, if any are interested in tagging along

  17. Good Job Bill, if you added in all the unrecorded caches I bet that number would more than double
  18. We need to try to shift one commitment, but if that is successful, we would like to tag along.
  19. How about old highway 80? New caches popped up. Did I just talk to myself? Yes, but you are intertaining to watch
  20. Fast yes, but has anyone else noticed that some of thier older finds don't map as found. I checked the logs and we are still there, so I guess the PQ's will still run OK. If you want to check, try doing a zip code find for your area and see if finds older than 6 months still show as found. I don't think this is a problem, just something worth knowing. It seems to happen when there are more than one page of caches and you go to page 2 on the map function.
  21. We are staying at 3 Peaks Resort & Beach Club, short walk to casinos edit: tag repair
  22. Cat and I are going up on Thursday before and staying through Monday. It would be great to have a San Diego contingent.
  23. I think it is somehow breaking the softlink between my cablemodem and my web brouser. The same thing happens when plugged in (so it apparently is not the wireless).
  24. I am not sure if others have already encountered this, but here goes. I love the new mapping features, BUT (and it's a big but) whenever I relocate the map to a new area, it seems to take forever to "locate caches" and does something to eliminate my wireless connection to the router (I think it resets some variable, but have not traced it out yet). The only way I can fix it after that is to do a cold boot on the cable modem and router. I am not running anything exotic (Windows XP and IE). Is there an easy fix?
