  1. You know you've got that lovin' touch ... When and where y' least expect it by the way. Harmon ... I think some of your humor is lost on all butt.. Barrie and I since most of the crowd had already made it to the top of that steep hill, or were far behind ..... us . Anyway I doubt Barrie will follow asp closely next time. (note to self: be sure to check spelling before posting to avoid that pesking censor posting ***)
  2. Could have swore I was hanging from that limb in the top of the frame in the original! Leave it to Harmon to keep all photoshopped pictures serious and professional. Yeah, I know what you mean Ian. I thought some of us had Halloween costumes on, and one of us was wearing a kilt! Hmmm. And in I think he made the place look scary, I sortof remember some nice paintings on the walls and furniture in that room
  3. It has not escaped us that this narrow canyon may provide an opportunity for ambush, so to prevent any such attempt we have enlisted the support of the Bloodsport Paintball Team to provide tactical support for this venture, be warned they have been authorized to use "extreme prejudice" in protecting the cache event team. If you plan nefarious events, this group will have you in their sites, you may not see them, but they see you, and rarely miss. Be warned.
  4. You are assuming the rest of the group will let Kwvers stay all 3 days after they eat the first day's supply of rolls, my bet would be the remaining 16 rolls are eaten during the tar and feather party Friday night
  5. Found one copy of the TNG #12 card plus misprint in The Bane of 'Libertybel', thanks
  6. Glad to see you return, thought something was up when we recently found one of your poker-chip coins in a cache and it looked new. See you on the trail. Cat & Bobby
  7. Presidential Puzzle After a President has been in office for 6 months it is customary for the last President to send a note of congratulations to the new one. So yesterday when the note came from Bush to Obama, the President was somewhat troubled because it was written in code and all it said was: 370H-SSV-0773H This troubled him as he had always heard from his peers how former president Bush was perceived to have been scholarly challenged. So he took the note to his wife. She was unable to decipher it. They called in the VP, and he was unable to decode the message. They called in the chief of staff and the head of Secret Service detail and they were unable to determine the meaning of the note. Next he called in the head of the Senate and Speaker of the House. They both were mystified by the meaning of the coded message. Now there was complete panic in the oval office. They called all of their contacts in the media and sent copies of the note to all of them, and not one was able to come up with an answer A special emergency meeting was called by the staff. All branches of the military, counter intelligence, CIA, FBI were called in, and the best minds were unable crack the code. After a sleepless night, a now humbled President picked up the phone and called the former president, and asked him the meaning of the note. Bush chuckled and replied: 'Dude ............. .You're holding it upside down!'
  8. We are both very sad at this loss, as others have said she was a full member of the SD Caching family, she just hiked on 4 legs instead of two. I am sure Chuy and family will hold her in thier hearts forever. What adventures she had geocaching, it is more than any dog could ask for, what a great life. We will miss her and remember her special log entries about finding caches and having to wait for her human partners. I guess we will celebrate her life and adventures, rather than dwell on the greif, and remember her on the trail.
  9. Can't wait to see how the tent does this year, already have the goggles packed just in case. See everyone there
  10. You really are not trying hard enough until the police are called to investigate your strange and unusual behavour, except for Harmon.
  11. Getting A Parking Ticket The other day I went downtown to run a few errands. I went into the local coffee shop for a snack. I was only there for about 5 minutes, and when I came out, there was this cop writing out a parking ticket. I said to him, 'Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a break'? He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. His insensitivity annoyed me, so I called him a 'Nazi.' He glared at me and then wrote out another ticket for having worn tires. So I proceeded to call him a 'doughnut eating Gestapo.' He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he wrote a third ticket when I called him a moron in blue. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I talked back to him the more tickets he wrote. Personally, I didn't really care. I came downtown on the bus, and the car that he was putting the tickets on had one of those bumper stickers that said, ' Obama '08.' I try to have a little fun each day now that I'm retired. The doctor tells me that it's important for my health.
  12. Hello NW Cachers Specifically those in Alaska. We are planning a trip (land tour & cruise) in June, and will visit Fairbanks, Denali, Anchorage, Alyesca, Skagway, Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan. We will get time to do some caching, but could use some help finding the "not to miss" caches near any of these locations. Any help out there?? Cat & Bobby of San Diego
  13. Sort of on this same topic, who has the fastest FTF?? One of our first caches was found by John (J&J) 23 minutes after it went live. Sort of wished we had ordered a pizza for the FTF prize, but it might not have arrived in time. Maybe we should simply place a DQ sundae in the cache and see if it is found before it melts?
  14. Congrats on the milestone, we can only hope #2000 didn't involve a police standoff with marshmellow guns (as #1000 did). We have enjoyed caching with each member of the team and look forward to many more adventures with you all. Cat & Bobby
  15. Visited with Lostguy today and his spirits seemed good, and he enjoys having cachers stop by. Doctors told him he will remain at this facility 2-3 weeks, but they re-evaluate his status on Thursdays. Don't be surprised if you run into other cachers while visiting, I ran into one of the Fat Cats, and others seem to be looking for something right outside his window. (Thanks Jodi)
  16. We went last year and the hike down to the cave entrace was steep, but easily hiked and you could take as much time as needed so don't see any problem there. Once inside the caves there are numerous times where the path is narrow and overhangs cause some unusual walking conditions. There was a 5 year old in our group and he did fine, and one in our group had a wlaking stick and no one said anything to them. Overall this was worth seeing. There are several other things not to miss in this are also.
  17. Harmon, I'm always looking for good names for caches and I do believe that's gonne be my next one "H-e-l-l-l-p I'm being Held captive By an Ex-Nun". Do you have any requests for spots where I should place it? ( Don't worry I'll add a rest stop on the way up) Regards, your friend Jodi While your at it, place two Jodi and call the second one "I'll have nun of that!" Maybe you could even do a third one in honor of Harmon called "Second to Nun." Pat...I like it..a power trail like nun other. I'm on it.... O sure, now it's pile-on time. Why I oughta .... Just thought of another one, "Nun too soon!" Awesome! This is shaping up to be a great project. Now I just have to find a spot.......don't worry Harmon I'll succeed. PS. Both of my bathroom remodels are finished Ok Harmon...with a little help from Trailgators we now have: "Nun" for the weak 2nd to "Nun" Only a "Nun" Can Help me now Harmon wants to rest?: We'll have "Nun" of that Ocean Views like "Nun" other Chariots of the "Nuns" H-e-l-l-p I've been captured by an "Ex-nun" View Like "Nun" Other There's "Nun" Left "Nun" too Soon" You're welcome! Seems to me I read this recently: seeking rest and finding "nun" Looks like Jahoadi is going to have us all in shape in no time! Don't forget about the movies like "Nun but the brave" Of course we don't condon mentioning a "Nuns But" in a cache name(or any other part of a Nun's anatomy) but since this is all going to get blamed on Harmon anyway.....
  18. Yeah! Both teams finish 8-8-0. Now there is something to cheer/whine about! Yes, but without help from a blind referee in the first game, the Chargers would have cliched the division last week and yesterdays game would not have been nearly as dramatic.
  19. Congratulation to both, we always look forward to seeing you guys, keep on caching and laughing. Cat & Bobby
  20. Also contact Sonny and Sandy at Podcacher, he proposed by geocache and was successful
  21. Although he is not a local to that area, I would suggest you contact Habu. He organizes a large event in that area with many caches focussed on the history and scenery.
  22. Things to ponder 1. Ratio of an igloo's circumference to its diameter = Eskimo Pi 2. 2,000 pounds of Chinese soup = Won ton 3. 1 millionth of a mouthwash = 1 microscope 4. Time between slipping on a peel and smacking the pavement = 1 bananosecond 5. Weight an evangelist carries with God = 1 billigram
  23. Loads of fun, caches, and PUD cake on top of a mountain, what more could a geocacher ask for? Thanks for initiating this Paul and for leading our rag-tag group.
  24. You might also try talking to the Assistant Director of County Parks, he is working on this issue also and has talked with atleast 2 local cachers.
