  1. Right in the pocket queries page there are the tips at the bottom. I go by that and check as little as possible for types of caches and then check "I haven't found" and I don't choose any attributes.
  2. That's funny. No, not the case here though. It just gives up and doesn't do a thingg when you push any of the buttons. I've kind of learned to live with it because I don't lose all my data when I do get it to come back up.
  3. Just an update. It still does this every now and then. I can only reset it without a SD card in it. I've already got my eye on a Garmin 60 CSX for Christmas.
  4. If you leave off the radius, and just set your query from the zipcode, you should get the 500 caches closest to the center of the zip code. Try it with just the center point and no radius specified. It doesn't give you the option to leave it off. Maybe I'll try ten miles.
  5. I tried it several different ways with the same results. The last one was a smaller radius (of 25 miles) from a zip code and 500 caches. It still doesn't pick 'em all up.
  6. Yeah, I love it . It seems that when I go back to the map it shows me more that were right next to the other that I went to though. It would be nice to make a clean sweep and save a little gas. (ie) I just went down I-5 to southern Washington and I found out when I got back that there twice as many on that route than I had in my PQ. I just want to know what I need to select, or not select to achieve this.
  7. I've been using Pocket Queries for a while but it seems to be leaving a lot of the caches out. When I map an area, it shows more than what is in my PQ for that area. When I'm requesting one I usually do traditionals and only check caches I haven't found. Is anyone else experiencing this? What am I doing wrong?
  8. Thanks for the great suggestion. I need to do something like that. I seem to have more brain farts than I used to.
  9. It is several months later now and has happened again. I had it in my pocket and jumped a fence and of course I'm miles away from a computer and can't remember how to reset it. These Magellans sure aren't very durable. I emailed Magellan a couple of times during my warranty period with no responses back. I won't be buying another one. In fact, I've already got my eye on the Garmin GPSmap60CSx. I just need to talk my better half into it
  10. WOO HOO! It worked. At least I think that's what did it. I hadn't messed with it since last night. I thought "I'll try anything now". It came right up where I left off. It didn't even go back to the default. Thank you so much embra.
  11. I'm not sure what re-flashing is, but it won't communicate with my computer. I purchased this about six months ago, so I think it's still under warranty.
  12. I use 2500 mAh NiMH recharhargeables. I just replaced them with another set. It did the same thing. The only way I can turn it off is to remove the batteries.
  13. I had my Magellan Explorist XL in a pouch on my side while was jogging up a trail. It did get bumped around a bit. I didn't have it on during that time. When I went to turned it on to do some caching on top the mountain, it seemed not to be able to boot up. It just shows a blue screen. Has anyone else had this problem. I have emailed Magellan(Thames) but I don't think they're open until Tuesday (because of the long weekend). Any help would be appreciated.
