Hi all, MarcB here...
It seems after almost three years that the geocaching bug is slowly wearing off. No longer do I feel the need to rush to go out and find a cache whenever I have a spare moment, in fact I can't, being stuck at university has put a stop to that (no car, public transport out of the question). I'm slowly seeing an increasing amount of lame microcaches appearing. Cache contents have never been amazing but have took a real downturn lately - I'd always rather you not leave anything at all than put some "rubbish" in a cache and make it leak. The splitting off into different geocaching factions has also made me sad.
And, finally, I'm running out of cache locations in my local area - the one thing that kept me going, showing other people cool places, is shortly about to run out.
So, while this is not Geocide, announcing my retirement or a dig at any person, people, group or organisation, I'd just thought I'd let you know my feelings.
Best of luck to all the great new cachers that have appeared in the midlands and around the UK as of late, just ignore me and stick with it, the sport/hobby/whatever has changed my life in so many (good) ways and I'm sure it'll change yours.
Thanks for reading,
MarcB
