  1. Yeah...I got in on that sale....cheaper than travel bugs and included my favorite couple of th coins, so couldn't really go wrong. Too bad they're discontinued though...I like the lil guy Now is the time, a lot of the older coins are experiencing a major fire sale at their store!
  2. Tee hee hee...sherpa. That's me too...I only take like 5 or 6 coins to each event...but the wood nickels (now out, but my main sig item for a while), pathtags, poker chips, fossilz, yo-yos...so many things.
  3. Wow...those are neat. I had wood nickels, still have poker chips, and use my poker chip stickers for mini yoyo's as well. I also have rocks and fossilz with personalized info sheets that I leave in caches...those are pretty cool, and decidedly unique, and no more expensive than the rest really. I always like personal items. Definitely cooler than random dollar store stuff.
  4. Those are AWESOME. I wish I was cool enough to have a geojelly.
  5. Yup...I do it all the time. I think this one: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=941433 is my favorite though. It just kinda worked for him I usually get the cheaper coins...The one on the bear is a generic geocoin, from geoswag.com -- $4.50 if you buy 6, $5.50 for 1, within the TB range still & comes with a pre-drilled hole for attaching things. For about 50 cents less they have a "cache movers" coin that'd work good too. Another good choice is Hogwildstuff's "famous" traveling coin (pre-attached to a key chain...made for what you're talking about), $4 ea in packs of 10, still under $5 singlely Also I like to give some of my coins, with attachments or not (without is smaller, good for lil caches) goals... http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=695278 is one of my favorites. Enjoy & good luck!
  6. Yeah...that does stink. I just found that one of my first geocoins that I set free has been sitting with a user for 5 months. After a little research, I found that this geocacher is holding at least 5 other geocoins as well, all for the last 3 months or more. This wasn't a newbie or a muggle or anything, this is a geocacher who actually logged the coins as finds. What can you do about something like that?
  7. Oooo...neat idea. Is it too late to get in on this? I'd probably go for 50 of them myself... Dew
  8. Excellent, received one from Mrs. Want2bemore & the Seabeck Tribe (yours is NOT in the mail yet, but will be soon). Mail goes out soon for the 2 or 3 people waiting there. Also currently have no more 2006 nickels left to trade (some left to mail though, if I've talked to you already). Thanks for everyone I've traded with & sorry to those who didn't get one. If you didn't get one...I do (finally) have the 2007 Poker chips: In several colors - green, blue, black, purple, even some pinks & greys somewhere, white & red too. I've got new magenetic calling cards as well. And of course, I have my lil fossilz too.
  9. I'd like a couple or a set. I like how the black nickel contrasts to the design. I bet copper would be real pretty like that too.
  10. Got....Like 5 of my original (2006) nickels left. Hope to have Poker chips (willing to trade...will wait to pose pic 'til they're in), Magnetic calling cards, & Pathtags within the next couple weeks...then may or may not get some more (different design, of course) wood nickels. Of course, also have the fossils still. Can never have too many fossils Yours are on the way, or will be soon, Nomads. Thanks to everyone who's traded with me, and anyone who hasn't...well, I've still got 5.
  11. Those are pretty cool looking. I'd like 1 (or 2)
  12. Still waiting for trains... Have been having horrible luck with trains... And dreamcatchers, but I know they were having some troubles.
  13. they should be there by now... I would recommend trying again Still no Trains in Germany Or in WV
  14. That's cool. I do a little chainmail jewelry (another good source for "jump rings" as well as "split rings" in a variety of types, materials, and sizes) and think I might make a little chain to make mine dangle more. And/or put one on the other side to attach a "This is where my traveler would like to go/what it would like to do/please don't steal me" Note.
  15. ACKKKKKK! They shipped? But that was my birthday, like 3 weeks ago! Not again.... (see e-mail)
  16. A birthday T-shirt and also a Christmas ornament that says: "I've lost my mind, but, that's OK, I've marked it with a waypoint. Uh-oh, LOW BATTERY." Not a coin, but always welcome nonetheless. Got some "Coins of translucence" earlier this week (birthday presents from myself to myself).
  17. Just my two bits.........I see where you're coming from, but sometimes you can easily confuse cause & effect on these things. I mean...if TBs/Coins are repeatedly stolen from a cache, then you have to ask why. In some cases it may be that one or two locals find it fun to steal from that cache, they know where it is & have easy access, but to say it's bad to put a coin in a cache that's missing a TB or 2 is assuming malevalence. That (sadly) may be the case for some, But in most cases (around here at least) the caches that have a few TBs come up missing are also the more traveled caches (the local "TB Hotel"). More TBs go there, more cachers (and probably muggles) go there too, and more get lost/stolen. For TBs/coins with a specific destination or esp. ones that just want miles, there's no better local place to put them than the cache with 3 missing. If you look at it statistically, the more your coin travels, the more chances it has to get lost or stolen, no matter which caches it's put it. We should note that most local caches are hard to get to. That's why there are less than 50 West Virginians with a cache count over 200. So the few really good TB hotels are pretty well used as that. Now....placing coins in a cache that's been muggled repeatedly...that, I will agree, is foolish.
  18. None for me. Not even any "real mail", just junk. Heck...that mail wasn't even for me, it's for "resident". No coins, no nickles, postcards, no bills (well...that's a plus), just junk. Waiting on my Smokey mountain Stamp. And my Train Set...2 trainsets I think...it's been awhile, I forget. I got Signals earlier in the week though. Three adorable little Signals but I have to wait to activate Signals, they're for my birthday.
  19. wow .. that concerns me.. all were shipped out almost 2 weeks ago Still waiting in West Virginia as well.... Apparently the "W" of the mail section was having some trouble that day
  20. Got my vote there too...Can't hardly cache without a DNF or 12. oops...too slow...oh well..teaser looks cool...
  21. Ditto...except yesterday for me =-]
  22. I'm with the first tcouple people there. I forgot to change my map to a new area when I went on vacation and sat there for quite some time going "I should see more roads with this" and finally "hold it...where are my topo lines". Especially for a hiker, just having good topo lines on you map makes the software worth it. As for the street names...WV doesn't label many of the streets that the map software actually does. I deon't know where they live or what their problem with it is...but if you zoom in far enough, here at least, the software labels more roads than the county does, so really I've seen no problem there. You do have to zoom in sometimes though.
  23. I think I've got my nickels traded to everyone now. If you should've received one & did not let me know. Same for the fossilz. If anyone else that I missed or has come more recently wants to trade, a pic of the design is on Post #304. Just e-mail or PM me. I check e-mails more often, but I work odd hours/days (like tomorrow...laboring on Labor day) so it may take 4-5 days to get back to you. Thanks! ~the Dew~
