    A Record?

This bug was totally successful. End finished it's run today with 52 finds in 14 days. Seems like cachers can be a bit obsessive

    TB Advice

Not revisiting caches would take all the fun out of this bug http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?ID=54834
  3. They are not trackable as TBs on GC.com and most often they are not entered on the cogeo site either. Most end up in the collections of the finder. Of the 20+ I have released I think only 3 or 4 have been logged more than twice. Such is the lot for thses coins, most of us expect them to be kept rather than moved very often.

    A Record?

Good luck with the "discussion" I still believe if you hide it they will hunt it

    A Record?

Not sure which bug you are refering to there Gargoyle. My bug IS spending time in these caches, just not very long. The idea is to get it first to play the game, it is always removed by a different cacher than the one that placed it. But with 15 people watching it, most of which will cache at the drop of a hat, it does not rest for very long at all

    A Record?

Discuss?? Where is the fun in that Just put something out there and issue the challenge. That is all it took over here. Of course we have these kind of cachers over here: "I'm curious though. Have any of these other geopoker games involved real geocachers or just the casual observers thinking," Oh somebody placed it, I'll get it a week from next Wednesday, maybe" I like to think that we are the caching hardcore and dadgum proud of it. To put something out there that requires finding and ask the question, who will find it first is just asking for a feeding frenzy from the cachers I know. Besides I ran into Mark, Jayson , and Jeff today. Not bad. Family get together caching on a Sunday afternoon is fine for those who like that. I'll take, " You'll get this dadgum TB from my cold dead fingers and maybe not even then" It has it's own merits, and it's all good natured fun. I love it. " -Anonymous Cacher

    A Record?

Well since it is restricted to the PDX area you are right about the miles. But the goal here is finds, not travel. I just rather under estimated how popular it would be I think

    A Record?

Anyone know the record for the most amount of caches visited in the shortest amount of time? My latest bug, Dead Man's Hand, has had 19 drop/retrieves in 5 days. That is a rate of nearly 4 caches per day this little guy is visiting...

    Waas

Yep, it is the same on my Vista. If you got 35 or 47 then the WAAS corrected sats will have a D in the strength bar. Really does not happen much up here, but I get them all the time when I am in Arizona.
  10. Cool Miss Jenn!! Glad it made it too you. Now let's see if you can get it back toward the left coast to me
  11. My TB First Finder Spoon Of Happiness And Success achieves it's goal every time it is found and replaced...
  12. That is an AWESOME cache!!! One of the best I have done. The scenery is beautiful and the hike is great. I spent the day out their for my 40th birthday last year as a bit of a walking meditation. I agree with the others it is for sure top 10 material.
  13. This is exactly what I have done in this situation as well.

    Geo Coins

And a bit closer to home: Oregon Geocoins These are ordered in bulk when there is enough intrest to place a minimum order of 250. We just ordered a batch of 500, so it will likely be several months before another order is placed. But watch your Oregon/Washington area caches, with 1200+ of them in circulation you are sure to find one now and again
  15. That seems like it would take a lot of the fun out of caching. But i guess if you are more interested in finding metal tags than actual caches more power to ya...
  16. I was wondering about this as well... 1000 bugs in 372 caches??? That is about 2.6 bugs per cache, seems rather high to me...
  17. Someone finally understands the issue here!!!!! I will now delete the note from Reptar's Page.....see if your count goes back down by one. OH, I see you have already deleted your log..........Am I right? Yes you are correct JB. When I deleted my note from the Raptar page my found bug count decreased by one.
  18. OOPS... You said Profile Page.... Sure enough when I View As Others See You and look at my list of found bugs it is there! But it is not on the list of found bugs on My Cache Page.... Curiouser and curisouser...
  19. I beg to differ with you on this (unless this was just changed today)......at the time of your referenced post, you certainly can post a note without having the TB's number.......and have it added to your total TB finds on your "Profile Page"..... I'll offer this again......try it out on any of my bugs. I just put a note on your Raptor TB. It did let me do that without having the number, but it does not show up on my found TB list. BTW - You can delete the note
  20. Only the USA coins are actually trackable travel bugs on the GC site. While the others are trackable, they really do not have goal pages or anything like that. This being the case I tend to agree that they would never make it to a given location. I know that very few of my Oregon coins get logged at all, but then again I do not really expect them to. The only USA coin I have ever found (or even seen) I kept, but only after emailing the owner and asking his permission. He changed the coins goal on the GC site to "To be carefully conserved in Bazzle's cache trinket collection.". Now the coin has achieved its goal and I have a cool addition to my collection. If this were to work, the state coin would probably have a better chance if it had a TB tag attached to it somehow and thus could be tracked on the GC site. Hmmmmm.... Have I just created my next TB idea???
  21. I believe it is not correct to do a virtual find. If you did not retrieve the bug from a cache and drop it into another cache it was not a find in the spirit of the game IMHO.
  22. If you did not take the bug home from the event did you really retrieve it? Should it really be considered a find if you did not retrieve it? The idea of a TB is to travel from cache to cache, not from hand to hand. If I did not take a bug from one cache, event or otherwise, and drop it into another cache, I would never consider it a find.

    Champoeg 2004

As someone who stayed in Yurt C last year...I do remember them having gravel paths up to each Yurt. Amy They did?!?!? Hmmmm too much good times I guess

    Champoeg 2004

I do not remember the little pathways to each yurt either. This must be a rather old pic?
  25. Ouch... They are $1.99 up here in Portland area (well Damascus) at Sgt Gator's and they have 1000's. The larger (50 cal) ones are $3.99 or 3 for $10.
