  1. Keep that up and you will go blind anyway and it wont matter.
  2. Sheesh. Sounds like the geocaching version of Bobby Fischer. Id rather be Bobby Fisher than a poor version of HST. Bobby didn't spend his evenings drunk or addicted to drugs.
  3. See thats the kind of thinking that really pi**'s me off. Everyone seems to forget that I hold the title of "rudest most condescending moderator". I retired undefeated and there for took the title with me. Its mine for life. I still have the Belt and the trophy. Lets try to get our facts straight there youngin. Don't make me come out of retirement for one last cage match to prove my point.
  4. Yes they are and if the submitted Virt meets the guidelines it will be listed. Not sure about an answer to your second question, Sorry.
  5. Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel. Gee I read the email when it came in and saw the change right away. So I'm not sure why you feel a need to insult people. But then again maybe I'm different cus I read things because they might have changed. O well you know about it now so its no big deal anymore
  6. If the log book is in the first or not last stage, why do I continue on to the final? I already signed the log.
  7. Thanks Bootron for all the hard work chasing down the bugs in the system. I am grateful that you are getting this all done so fast.
  8. Lep- I'm on this one. Probably won't be fixed until tomorrow, but we are definitely aware that this is a problem. There is something specific to this particular waymark that is causing things to go haywire. I'm not sure what it is yet, but I'll get down to the bottom of it. Sorry for the trouble! Sean Great Lep, you broke the waymarks!!!!!
  9. I have to ask , can you get an FTF on a non virgin cache?

    Hurricane Katrina

Jcell, I totally agree with you. I have already sent money but plan to send more. Since GC doesn't seem to think their southern CUSTOMERS are important enough to warrant better consideration than an off-topic posting in the forums, I think I can see where my $30 premium membership would be better spent. I had all these witty things to say about the above quote but its not worth it. Nice to know that LSU can read minds.
  11. I HAVE AN IDEA. WHY DON'T YOU DO JUST THAT. Sorry, I was trying to reply in your native language but I'm not fluent in angst. If you think a new site is needed so you can play the game the way you want to on this site then you should create that site. Shouting at the rest of us about what you feel is a problem will not change anything. We used to have a rule when I worked. The person who felt passionate enough to bring a problem to the table was the one that was given the job of fixing it. Please let me know when your COMPETITIVE "RACE" site is ready I would love to see your version of how to play this game. Since you feel its broken, would you please fix it? THANK YOU. Michael p.s. Become a premium member and run a Pocket Query that filters out the micros and small caches. Then your past time wont be ruined by having to find caches you do not like. I happen to know that your state is rich in some great ammo box caches. You just need to do a little work to find them. That should not be a problem for you as you seem like someone who is willing to do whats needed to find an answer. Unless you are going to be too busy reinventing Geocaching on your new site p.p.s Its Geocaching not Geo-caching.
  12. All caches really need to be identified as such along with some way to contact the owner of the cache. A recent thread highlighted this. Definitely a good idea to do so if it will fit. Some of the newer nano caches can't take a log but should somehow be identified if at all possible. If they cant take a log then they are not a cache.
  13. How would this help TBs that are placed after you leave home and before you get to the cache. You could use a PDA or carry a list of TBS you have grabbed on a piece of paper. That would be easier than rewriting the site.
  14. Sites of (significant) Religious Significance? would that be administered by the Dept of redundancy department?

    Temporary Ban

Meaning what, precisely? I open multiple pages all the time on both GC.com and the forums server, and never have a problem with it. It seems to make sense to keep open a page that resulted from a database query (such as the list of nearest unfound caches, or new caches in my state) rather than force it to refresh by returning to it by clicking the BACK button. I keep the hit list page open and use my right mouse button (in IE) to open individual cache pages in a new window. Is that not the server-friendly way to do things? If you are not having a problem with blank pages that what you are doing is fine.
  16. we all ready have a Forum to discuss Gps Hardware. Why not use that one?
  17. Wi-Fi is a fancy short hand for exactly what you are doing with your wireless network connection. Its a Wireless internet connection using the 802.11x system.
  18. Whoa.............back the horse up! How is this bewildering anyone's fun? All it's doing is showing that you were the FTF, that's it. Whew what a leap!!! That quote is RK's not mine.
  19. As long as your WIFi card will do 802.11B you will be safe. 802.11G is used in someplaces but I have never seen a time when my B card did not connect.
  20. You are correct that the GC id is not sent. However at the bottom of every new notify email the cache URL is shown. Not perfect but better than nothing for the moment. I do agree that the GC ID would be nice.
  21. Let's see. This website has a forum for discussing ideas and monitors that forum for feedback. The idea is one I like, but I do think it's not very easy to implement even if this site were so inclined. As for FTF, some geocachers enjoy getting them, some like to list them on their profile, others like to beat out the competition ,and some have a lot of it. It takes all kinds to play this game, and the ones who just point and laugh are laughable themselves. Hopefully you don't know anyone so shallow as to think that their belittling another’s fun, is anything other than pathetic. Actually I know of a few. None of them live in Colorado but it takes all kinds which makes my point. It was insinuated that everyone likes FTF's I was pointing out that it is not a true statement. Personally I am neutral on the subject of FTF's. I see no reason to seek them and no reason not to.
  22. Try logging out of the GC.com website and log back in. Trust me
  23. Call me old fashioned but this kind of minutia is possibly best served in Emails and/or PMs. Looks like this thread can be closed as it purpose has been fulfilled. Just an opinion.
  24. ...you can report this thread for being off topic and belonging in the Off Topic Forum.
  25. Yes, Joe Cacher could just be a jerk and log a FTF, but doesn't the cache owner have the option to go into his the cache he owns and permenantly delete logs? I believe he does. Lets see, the website is on record as to not wanting stats and you want to add another one???? Not all geocachers talk about FTF's, some talk about those cachers who think FTF's are important. Some just point and laugh. Sorry I don't see it happening. You could start a website where people could track their FTF's. That would solve the problem and be a lot faster than waiting for something that might never happen. Everyone has new ideas about more features for the site. Then everyone complains that the features take too long to make it to the site. Did anyone ever think that there are only so many hours in the day and if all the requested features were to be implemented it would probably take 2-3 years before they got to this one. There are that many suggestions floating around. (yes I did the same thing you did, I generalized by saying everyone. That was my point. Generalizations are never a good thing)
