  1. Yes Warren g. Magnussen Park / Sand Point is also an excellent location with lots of free parking!
  2. Hi Kai, While Kerry Park is a lovely location it is also very popular and lacks parking. So IMHO it's probably not the best location. Gas Works Park is a good location with plenty of free parking and is near headquarters and has a few geocaches located there.
  3. Sure. Just select Play > Find a Cache, then enter the address into the search field. You'll get results something like this: https://www.geocaching.com/play/search/@37.42281,-122.08509?origin=1600+Amphitheatre+Parkway,+Mountain+View,+CA+94043 That is only for city and zip. I want it to be specific down to the address. When I tried using it like you suggested it said "We couldn't recognize that location. Please try again."That sounds like a problem with your specific address and/or the geocoding service(s) Groundspeak uses. The example I gave above DOES include a full address. It took five different addresses to finally get it to recognize a specific address including my own! Terrible stats.
  4. Isn't it interesting to have to include the old link for a "new and improved" search system? I think they should have kept it the old way and just included the new off to the right like they did when it was being introduced.
  5. The profile page appearance, including the removal of photos, was announced in an October 2014 update. You can still have personal info and photos on your profile page. You just have to write it in HTML.

  7. So is there any way to search now with a specific address?

    Hikes

There are two missing caches along that route--that one and Stumped at Boulder Falls, and I hope both COs will allow us to replace them--or will come with us! I heard the other CO might be moving. Maybe he will allow you to adopt it?

    Hikes

Hopefully Harriet will allow you to replace the Boulder Falls cache? http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCJH48_boulder-falls
  10. I'm sorry to inform you that your TB was not at HQ yesterday. There really were not that many in the treasure chest. Certainly far less than are listed in the inventory. There is always the possibility that someone picked it up before me.
  11. Thanks! I'll see if I can locate it on Friday.
  12. I will be there on Friday and can see what I can do. I looked at your profile for TB's owned and did not see it listed though. It would be nice to have a visual before I go.
  13. I have a friend who lives in the Alki Point area who is interested in carpooling if any of you south enders are coming?
  14. Sounds like a wonderful hike that I'm looking forward to doing with you on Saturday!
  15. Great Balls of Fire! Rey Del Roble hit 30K 6-16-13 at Ring of Fire GCJYHZ, Congrats!
  16. I applaud you for being open minded and for your willingness to research this out.
  17. Well, it was sound enough to get published. I'm guess it had something to do with deleting found logs he did not approve of.
  18. Recently we were planning a trip to eastern Washington and I came across this cache: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=f172080c-8cf5-4ec1-addf-ff455324e046 It has been disabled for a while with no updates. Anyone know why or have any background about it?
  19. Goose Rock is not hidden on the balding area or the protected fenced in meadow but that whole top is off limits to caches. The Deception View is not far from the existing trail on a smaller trail that goes down to the water but is still in their off limits area. So sad!
  20. As a result of the new State Park rules, all of the older state park caches that were formerly grandfathered are now being required to have a permit and brought up to code. If it is deemed that they are in violation it is mandated that they be archived by June 1st. Such is the case of two old wonderful caches at Deception Pass that I recently adopted, Goose Rock, http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=343a8d17-eda5-430a-b9e8-8baf32fa1f6d and Deception View- http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=9e5f9e7b-6fc2-4abf-bbdc-98f717bd3524 After filing permits for both they were denied due to the classification of the land area: "designated natural forest areas or natural areas." Since they are both wonderful old classic caches with wonderful views I thought I would notify the caching community of their fate and give them the chance to visit and log them while they still can. June 1st is the date for them to be archived.
  21. Another great trip except this time it was internationally. Please update our stats. THX!
  22. This is what he said after I asked him to change his found log to a note. "I had asked someone at Groundspeak about that, and he said that as long as I was on the phone with my friend, walking him through the find, since he didn't have a GPS, computer, or even a smart phone to help him find it and my friend signed my name on the log, he thought it would be okay, but it was also up to the C/O as well."
  23. I had a guy yesterday claim a find on one of my caches. (He has over 5,000 finds.) His friend is a trucker with a car GPSr. The guy walks him through the cache via a cell phone and Google earth and then they both log the cache.
  24. Please update again. We had a great spring break trip to NY!
  25. Updated score for the Crouchcrew is 5184, THX!
