  1. Yes indeed! As with life, geocaching is an adventure!
  2. Just want to say we had alot of fun with this game. We logged in last night after our local event (no, did not drive to PA, but thought about it) and managed to finish off at #207. It caused us to look at caches in a new and different way (one owned by a dog, in particular was hilarious and creative). Excellent interactive graphics, story & theme, and user friendly to boot. Thanks again for the fun and generosity in creating this game. KD & MS
  3. Hi Nittany Dave I hate to say anything, because it seems you've already had more than a few complaints to deal with. However, I just want to point out that by selling them with a limit of 25, it means they could potentially sell out in less than 14-15 emails (depending on how many were sold locally in presales). Meaning you will be disappointing many, many other eager collectors. You might want to consider a lower limit. Just a thought.
  4. You mean so you're really at 4443? Just kidding, Congratulations!!!
  5. Ummmm Central Connecticut Cachers??? Yep, the Central CT Cachers have a monthly Tuesday evening event. Why Tuesday, you ask? Because with turnouts of 40-50, most places are too crowded on Friday and Saturday nights to fit us! On Tuesdays, places can accommodate you more easily. Although the daytime outdoor caching events have always been on weekends, the evening get togethers are weeknights.
  6. Huh? Yoda, quit talking like that about your master!! I've been with your master hiking and if he doesn't enjoy it, he sure hides it well. Or maybe it was just our company. I do think our multis have gotten less finds than our regulars, but then again, our multis are just plain tougher. Then again, all multis are just plain tougher. The more pieces to find, the easier it is to not find em. KD
  7. Oh, how could I forget...how about lyme disease, as a result of one of my first caches on Long Island. Kids were covered in ticks that day! katydid
  8. My worst injury also hapened while playing a geo-game. I was deep into New England's Capture the Flag Game and was at Mianus Falls cache when I slipped and took a bad fall. Got some road rash and cuts but the worst was my finger. My right middle finger was dislocated and pointing straight up, so I quickly and instictively popped it back into place. It hurt for a good month and still hurts in damp weather. The knuckle is still big and will always be that way. It's my geo battle scar. I must admit I'd feel better if we had at least won the game. katydid
  9. If you go to "latest activity" you will see that it took her about half hour to figure out the final piece.
  10. I agree. I thought it would be less to just collect a certain type of coin, so I started buying state coins only. Even then, it's expensive. I'm actually rethinking the whole thing.
  11. I would really like to see what geocaching related crafts people have made. I have made a cross stitch, bandanas, bookmarks, and am working on another thing or two. What crafts have you made that tie in with geocaching? katydid
  12. Yikes, we've been erased also. We were somewhere in the # 120's. Are only the the first 100 contenders worthy now? Here's hoping everyone has lots and lots of turkey and is too full and too sleepy to cache or log, thus allowing us to make the first page.
  13. Will there be a Limited Edition version of the Long Isl coin? Do former LIer's get a first crack at any LE coins?
  14. I'll take 2. just kidding, I know this isn't a presale thread
  15. Bump. Does anyone have a list of state coins and their numbers produced already compiled somewhere? Before I start reading through all of this.
  16. Yes, I would like to know the same thing. Can you change an entry at a later date? I realized I should've used a different cache...
  17. Can more than one player claim the same cache?
  18. Looking for PA and NJ Have New Mexico, or Maryland to trade.
  19. I'd go for the "one or two people to get the ball rolling approach". While Connecticut has no official geocaching organization, we are still a very active community. We have two regular evening "get togthers" in different parts of our state each month, and we have our share of other events, too. My point is, you don't have to be officially organized to get things done. You might find that if you host a local get together, maybe over pizza and beer, that you'd find others interested in making a coin, too. And it might even happen quicker than via an organization.
  20. I must admit I was surprised at the Albany skyline on the NY coin. Perhaps someone will make a NYC coin...HINT HINT Or a Long Island coin
  21. <<< Doing the happy dance! Thank you for posting the lucky stiffs so quickly. Now I can get on with life.
