  1. I actually think "TFTC!" would be good for the default log. That's what I do when I have nothing to write.
  2. It's the new default log for the intro app. That's what I was guessing it would be. Are you able to erase that and write your own log?
  3. I have seen multiple logs by multiple users read this: "That’s one more find for me! Thanks so much for hiding this geocache." Why do so many people have that? Is it some default log or something?
  4. You are a perfect example of why a causal geocacher with so few finds should NOT be hiding geocaches. I like to hide geocaches and have just as much right to do so as anyone else provided the reviewer approves the listing.
  5. And what does that specifically mean? You're kidding, right? DNF = did not find, plus a "needs maintenance" log posted asking you to check on it. Looks like the cache has been needing some maintenance for a while now. Sounds like the container is not a good choice to keep water out. B. No, I'm not kidding. I want to know what the words mean. "In action". What does that mean. Who or what is in action? A muggle? The cache that's sitting there? And did you go and look up the cache page or something? Yes, I did look up the cache page. Obviously. The cacher couldn't find it, so he thinks it may be ... missing. That's what he posted in both his logs...requesting you to check to make sure the cache is still there. It would be far easier to go out and check on the cache, do any required maintenance, or change to a better container, or whatever is needed to make the cache findable and have a dry log book for folks to sign. B. Go check to see if your geocache is still in place, or wait for a few more MIA logs. It may be AWOL and need NM posted on the cache page. What makes you think the cache is not MIA without checking? Please report cache status back ASAP. I will add it to my watch list. Well, first, it's amazing how many posts I've gotten on this thread without really participating in it. On to the point, you've no right to be commanding me to immediately check on the status of my caches and then go reporting to you ASAP. I am not like most geocachers who are obsessed with the game. I cache in my free time, when I feel like it. I will get to the cache when I decide to. Also, do not accuse me of going to accuse of stalking. Bike shorts riding a little high are they? If you refuse to maintain a geocache, don't hide one. Many of us here because of you thread took a peek at your listings, and they have logged issues. Maybe a local will post a NA on them for you. Merry Christmas. I would tell you to lighten up that many of us enjoy communicating in a civil manner in the forums here, but you may confuse it as a demand. I'm not refusing to maintain geocaches, I just get to them in my time.
  6. Let me google that for you Of course, someone has to come up and make a stupid post with Let me google that for you. You people who do that don't really seem to get the concept of the forums.
  7. Better yet floridabiker, go back and check on ALL of your caches. Based on the logs, they all seem to be in need of a little TLC. The mystery cache also? And "Habemus Papam!" seems to be fine according to the logs. I wish you'll all just get of my back about it.

  10. Sometimes, muggles aren't even a problem. A good rule to know whether you even should avoid them necessarily, is that if they look suspicious, take caution. If they don't look suspicious, you probably don't need to worry about them. They'll probably be really understanding and love the idea of geocaching. P.S. Never upgrade to premium.
  11. Today, a user logged a DNF on of my caches. Here is the text of their log: Does anybody know what MIA means?
  12. To the developers of the Geocaching.com web site, Could you please make, at least for virtual caches and unknown caches, a tool that gives the CO the option to hide all the logs or specific logs, or just the content of logs or specific logs? This is because, there is a virtual cache (that I've already found), where you need to provide some info from the site, which you need to email to the CO, and some users put the info right in their log, which is not allowed. I don't think deleting the log should be the option. Could you make something to hide the log? Sincerely, floridabiker1 Proud Basic Member
  13. Hello all, I went looking for a cache today that I did not find. I am certain that I was at the GZ. I also had a TB on hand. I want to know if it's okay to log a TB visit, even though I didn't find the cache. Before I posted this thread, I saw a similarly titled thread that was just posted and checked on it to see if it was the same question I had. It was however saying that on their cache, another cacher who logged a DNF logged TB visits also, which the OP of that thread was saying should not be allowed. Is this allowed? It should be, since you're AT the GZ, with the TB. If precise accuracy of location is a matter, note that unknown caches can put accuracy off by up to 2 miles. Answers, please?
  14. Does anyone know of a site that offers free services to make geocaching profile stats for basic members?
  15. On your cache page, make a link to this wikipedia article: Food
  16. I try to get as much as I can out of a basic membership, and I am not interested in a premium membership, unless it's free for life. Most of the PMO features are PMO just to have a reason for users to upgrade. Stick with a basic membership. Don't stop geocaching.
  17. I've seen other users suspect that some geocachers will wait intentionally to log FTF so others will still think an opportunity for FTF is still available. I, however, think it is inconsiderate to do so and you should log right away.
  18. What is the most popular state in the U.S. for Geocaching?
  19. I am making a mystery cache and I would like someone to check if my puzzle correctly leads to the final coordinates. However, to solve this cache, you must first, somehow, temporarily obtain a copy of this book: "The Jeopardy! Book: The Answers, The Questions, The Facts, and The Stories of the Greatest Game Show in History" by Alex Trebek & Peter Barsocchini, PAPERBACK. ISBN: 0060965118. If you have a copy of this book or are able to obtain one quickly (you may want to check your local library), and would like to check my coordinates, please leave a reply on this post and I will e-mail you the rest of the puzzle, and you will e-mail the final coordinates you get.
  20. Does GeoWoodstock XI or any of its related events cost money to attend or require previous registration, or can you just show up without announcing yourself beforehand?
  21. Sometimes when browsing Geocaching.com, I find that my avatar or another one that I recently viewed, is pasted where it's not supposed to be. For example, some other geocache log by another cacher has my avatar. Please fix this. Thank you, floridabiker1
  22. There have been several geocaches in my area that I never found and have disappeared from the results since then, and so, I assume they are archived. Even though the cache isn't there any more to find, I was wondering if there is any way to locate the cache listing, just to find out what happened to it. I have been able to do this for ones that I have on my watchlist or logged, but how do you find the listing of archived caches that you DON'T have the link to? Thank you, floridabiker1
