It's dead easy. The GPSr works when you fire up an application which uses it. i.e. Memory Map, Tom Tom etc. Just make sure you have the GPS config settings correct within the app (Com4:, 4800) and it will fly. QuickGPS just pulls satellite positions for the next week from the Internet, so you get a very fast aquisition time. If you don't have a GPS app and just want to test it there are plenty of free noddy apps at freewarepocketpc.net ah right, thanks for that. probably give it miss then as I don' have/use any of those prgrams myself and I can not justify spending anymore money on extra mapping.

I now feel your pain. I talked my wife into getting herself the HTC TYTN II and she has worked out everything on it except the GPS so I had a look and I can't see how it works or how to start it. I just see a quick GPS option and then download after that nothing happens. The manual gives ZERO NADA NOWT ZILCH DIDDLY SQUAT advice.

As everyone is using different equipement you are always going to have variations in how far out you are, there are more acurate GPSr about but if someone placed a cache withh an older model then you will still have the same problem. As long as you are using the right Datum you should not be to far out, then if all else fails read the clue. or just read the clue or use google earth or follow the trail left in the long grass. Most of all don't worry you get them in the end!

Would also like to point out that Erik is also at the minute reviewing all new Irish caches and there have been a few over the last week or so and also some hiccups! Good man he is!

So who is going to set the guide line on the event page about it being frowned upon that someone is bringing this kind of absurd cache? or is it going to be a new guide line on GAGB? is it anymore absurd than people setting a cache and saying please leave it for ......... to find for his/her/their 400th or whatever cache? Or anymore abrusrd than someone's partner hiding a cache and then the other half getting the FTF on that cache within minutes? to me it's all cheating but that is only with in my own rules of how I play.

i don't think it matters what you do with them these things will sadly still happen. if it is coin and you drill i guess you reduce its collectability value which could be a good thing.

Is anyone here sure that if even you used a camera and filmed the person in the act would the police do anything? Is it simply even if very annoyingly one of the risks of the game? If I hide something in the open public and someone else finds it who does not care and decides to take it are they doing anything illegal? or just simply spoiling it for everyone else?
