  5. Cotswold online sale is on at the minute and I have picked up a pair of trousers not waterproof but I wasn't looking for waterproof. Sale in that store I usually find quite generous.
  6. Another 4 gone. I'll be expecting 1st class mail!
  7. Mandy I'll take another few as there are a few locals from here who do not frequent such places like this. I'm actually still waiting to see mine as I have not seen Tim since I got back from Canada.
  8. How many people leave jeeps in the states until the game is over? I reckon they probably think it is very unfair when us and others start moving them unmasse when they get released. Just playing devils mucker!
  9. The coin is now in the UK awaiting a VAT payment. coins should be with my by the start of next week and will be shipping by the end of the week.
  10. Unfortunately I had to go to work today. So I would appreciate if some one could summarise the thread since I last posted?
  11. Actually, you are talking about a fellow cacher, so it is geocaching related. I will say that I am disappointed at some of the replies. A shame. I think you can get your point across without the personal attacks directed at the Groundspeak staff. So what if they don't all own a passport? Does that make them bad people? In addition, only a couple of people would even be involved in anything to do with community relations. I don't see how you can bad mouth everyone there and lump them all in one big group like this. Wherigo and Waymarking and web site coding people and others behind the scenes just do their job, just like so many of us do. I don't understand the need to drag these people through the mud. They are just office workers. The principals have finds overseas. I don't. Big deal. I don't make a ton of money myself, but I make a pretty good income. I don't make enough to be able to travel out of the country. Does that make me a bad person or an idiot? I don't think it does myself, just not as fortunate as some. Maybe one day I will hit the lottery or get lucky in business. I am lucky enough to have traveled across the US for business and to take some nice vacations here and to Canada over the past few years (which did not require a passport to visit until very recently, which also leads to part of the reason why US people don't *need* passports as much). Groundspeak has to have regular office workers, like any company. Like I say, disappointing. I understand your need to vent, but you don't have to get personal about it. And, I own a passport and have had one for 15 years now. I've never considered it a big deal at all. Like I said though it only appears to get moderated when it suits the Mod to do so. I have seen threads get closed which were about geocachers. Bottom line is I'm not going to get dragged into how things are dictated on here (they say China is bad). This is a hobby and therefore you have a huge mix of people from every class and interest level. I have noticed recently GS turn the screw and get above their station, this may not be directly by those at HQ but it is those they employ to do their dealings. Surely now even they have seen the chord of discontent from the UK community? Are they going to do anything about? are they going to address it? My guess is no but we live in hope
  12. Yep apparantly there is a thing called US English (well according to Microsoft anyway and its an excuse for not being able to spell Queens English) As funny as I find that comment I now daily have to deal with "British" numpties that email me with text speak and other weird spellings of words which is much worse than American (you must forgive them for trying to create a bit of Culture for themselves) As the Great George Dubya would say " fool me once shame on me, fool me twice shame on me no no no shame me twice shame on..... shame me twice shame on...."
  13. I dont think it is Donny We are in a Geocaching forum talking about a fellow geocacher, and everything has been civil. M is trading a geocaching calendar for a geocaching coin not still geocaching then?
  14. Why has the thread not been closed yet? Is it not totally off topic? Not saying I agree with any kind of ban for something as trivial but again it shows threads only get moderated when it suits the mod to do so!
  15. not sure what price you can get the colorado 300 for in UK but I think its at least £250 i'm almost sure its closer to the £350 but i'm sure you can check it out. The 300 is probably all you need as the only diference with a 400 with any letter after it is the pre loaded American maps which you most likely would not need.
  16. I just bought a Colorado 400t which is great cost just under £250 from the states. holds all the infor you'll ever need. My Garmin 60cx will be getting sold very soon, it is a great unit and has great signal and you can transfer data right from GC pages. It is really a personal choice and how much money you want to shell out.
  17. Unfortunately I could not be at the event but to save on P&P I sent my very own personal courier service to pick mine up from Mandy. I have no idea when I will see the courier but I know it is save hands. Hopefully you get rid of the rest of them Mandy.
  18. looks like us good folk in Northern Ireland won't be getting any action! so much for spreading the word
  19. I also find you can be in more than 2 places at once. for instnace I have now 2 gpsr's plus one gps on my phone and one on my pda each of these devices say I'm somewhere other than where I am. how do I know this? Simple the sign in front of me say you are here? The question really is who can you trust? Donny I'm here there and usually everywhere!
  20. D U M P all the baggage ..................... I mean ALL ............ leave ALL the past --- in the past... get a life of your own ...................... Me thinks some one has been biten themselves. This does not help not everyone shares the same experience when splitting up.
  21. leaving Canada today to return home to the world of sensible caching. No more LPC's in every paking lot available, no more micros hidden out side every fast food joint, no more micro power trails (though that was the msot enjoyable series) only problem is I must have forgot one of them and did not get a chance to go back again. Last day here I did the best cache since my stay began. hidden in a tree along a quiet stretch of river and for once someone knows what a small container is. I was able to leave a pen and note book, the rest of the smalls where like sugar bowls. This part of Canada (windsor ontario) and surrounding area are obsessed with micros, now I never complain usually about these as usually I don't mind the odd one but not almost every cache. with no clues either they are a mean bunch. Looking forward to getting some well reviewed and sensible caches again.
  22. The most basic and widely used GPSr would be the Garmin Etrex (yellow) if you can get it with the H model then even better as it will work better in built up areas and under tree cover. Other than that you have a world of choice going up to some crazy money. which is not needed unless you are a gadget junky. Try out the online auction sites for second hand models and sometime on here people are getting rid of unwanted GPSr's. Oh and welcome to the weird and wonderful world of caching feel free to ask whatever questions you like and someone will answer as a bonus sometimes you even get an answer to the question you ask...
  23. Bit like this you mean! (Although, thankfully, it wasn't the clue for this one!) I had one not disimilar to this but it was the big tide control rocks. the clue was you might like a wee dram here. now my only conclusion was he was was meaning "on the rocks" I hate dumb clues. My hints/spoilers tell you exactly where the cache is. I condsider the rest of the page the spot to be cryptic but like has already been said you just have to accept everyone plays differently.
