  1. Contacteer GC, zij lossen dat op. Ik ga er van uit dat je Barny bedoeld Gisteren was er ook een vraag van iemand maar binnen de 2 minuten was alles verwijderd en zijn account gelocked.
  2. By "archiving" it. Caches never get deleted. GS can "retract" a listing though. An archived caches can always be seen by going to coord.info/GC*****, a retracted cache gives a 404 error (not found).
  3. I tried GC7T963, GC3AK1K and GCV8XG. None show images in Firefox 81.0. However, right-click > view image info shows the image. Except for one they seem to be hosted on 3rd part sites.
  4. Most recent within a 30Km radius of Entre Ribeiras is this one approx. 21Km away it was placed Dec 18th 2019. Instead of trying all icons on the map you can just create a PQ and sort on distance, placed date, last found.
  5. Exactly. When a cache size is rated "other" we know it can be anything but most of the time it's something "special". Logs, branches and any sort of stone or rock are the first things we start to look for in that case. When there are buildings around, fake magnetic signs/ventilation covers are looked for. Most of the time the combination D rating, "other" and percentage of favorites is the best hint what to look for.
  6. As some societies and tourist bureaus around here create tours where people have to answer questions along the way we use that activity to "hide" what we're doing. Although a passer by asking "found it yet?" is getting more common.
  7. Other seems to be correct. That's how these caches are rated here too. Whenever we see "other" we know it can be anything. As little as a nano in a plastic spider or as big as a micro/small.. in a big log.
  8. There are tools for that. All tracking/ads/cookies/scripts are off by default except when I allow them.
  9. Then you can log an OM stating you drained the area and the cache is OK again.
  10. The same goes for my GPS12XL. Enter by hand with arrows to select numbers, WP name (geocachename) just 8 characters long, no map, just an arrow pointing to the cache or WP. Later I had software to load the limited memory of the GPS. Especially for multi's a printed copy of the cachepage was a must. PM or not, just about everybody had to do the same thing.
  11. You still don't have to pay. Your only restricted to seeing non-PM caches. You can see all D/T combinations and all cachetypes. You can download all these caches as individual GPX files and have them available in an app on your phone. And yes I have loaded individual caches after downloading GPX files from the cachepage. I load them in GSAK to load caches in bulk to my GPS (don't have a smartphone). So again, you can cache for free, I chose not to as I'm all set up for API use instead of the website.
  12. Still no. You can load GPX files from the website with many apps. Every cache you can see on the website as basic member is available if your app supports GPX import. For Android GDAK (no longer API partner) does, so does Locus and I'm sure others do too.
  13. Worse than not logging a DNF is logging a fake found it. No matter what, if we look for a cache and can't find it, we log a DNF. It helps the ones that come behind us and alerts the CO there might be a problem with the cache. If there's no problem, the next one will find it, no harm done, otherwise there will be more DNFs and hopefully a NM.
  14. Just a thought. You found 6 caches so far. Only traditionals. Maybe it's better to find some more, some different cachetypes. As for "reporting". That's done by posting a "needs maintenance" log. Just mentioning a problem in four found it log can easily be missed by the CO.
  15. No, I didn't. I just thought it was funny to write that post already and not waiting until you're sure no DNF was logged. Since you're in the US it's not even evening yet. I only use a GPS but my logs are posted after 22:00 on most occasions (get home, eat dinner, watch some TV, write logs, check newssites, go to sleep )
  16. Wow, 2 hours later and no DNF yet? What has the world become to. Phone or not, it may be a while before logs are written/posted. Typing a decent log is something I wouldn't want to do on a phone anyway.
  17. That's exactly what GS is trying to stop. They only allow their own tracking (and Google, adnxs, amazon, casalemedia...).
  18. Dowel+ hammer to punch geocachename in a piece of metal, using a marker on a flag, umbrella, clothing, rock, needle and thread to sow our name, thread and plastic beads with letters, 2 meter long wooden stick (hidden in traffic sign pole).....
  19. Delete the logs, probably your coin's tracking number made it to a list. You will see more fake logs as these lists propagate through the internet. If the coin is just "sitting there" you can also "lock" it so it can't be logged anymore.
  21. As for privacy people are better off with images/files hosted on my own domain than on any Google (or similar) service as there is no tracking, no ads, no 3rd party, only standard server logs.
