  1. Ok I just fixed the inactive part. Thanks I am still stumped on the logs though. I updated the unit today with a pq that i got by email today and the one cache i went to on the unit that last log was from 6/24/09 and when i wen tthe that caches site there has been 5 logs after 6/24/09 and they did not show on my unit Not sure if you already do this but do you delete the old files off in your GPX file first and then move the new one from your PQ into the GPX file? That works for me with my Oregon 300
  2. At the site in the video I have a 'private' cache for English friends (I live in Ireland) Does any have or know others that have private caches? G
  3. Nice one, i his my first one the other day but when i uploaded the coordinates geocaching.com said it was in a registered nature reserve. oooops ill plant another one soon 2nd part 3rd part My husbands commentry gets more and more sarcastic as he gets more and more bored hiding the cache!!!LOL
  4. Uh, 1805! I can beat that! The first multicache. A three stage multicache, navigated by a star themed on preciouis metals, year 0000: Brilliant - that's my favourite - the ultimate cache too!!!!
  5. One of the top 10 oldest caches in MN is the same concept. Except I think it is a virtual. It's called something like "Mr. Little Guys House". I actually have another cache exactly the same except it has Little Boys Room and Peter Pan drawn outside of it - inside the door i have a male fairy standing up going to the toilet!!!
  6. Thanks guys on the tips for getting the photos on. It's not very clear but on the door it says Little Girls Room and has a drawing of tinkerbell on it.... [/img]
  7. [/img] [/img] This was my fairy cache idea - made the door myself and drew on the panels and added hinges etc, when you move the door there is a fairy sitting on the toilet!!!
  8. Trying desperately to show you my photos of my fairy cache - how do i get photos from my computer onto this thread!!!?!?!??! The insert image button says i must insert a URL???
  9. Hi Dont know if this counts but I have a 'private' cache set up with cachers in England. We leave special messages (when I'm able to visit it as I live in a different country) and cool cache containers... I have a problem though because I hid the cache at Easter on a mountain side and by the summer a billion ferns grew up and even with co ordinates I couldnt find the flamin thing !!! I've got a video of me looking for it - the first part is looking for shells (see my thread a 1950 geocache) and second vid is one my husband made with out me knowing - he thinks he's funny!!!!! My husbands cheeky version.....
  10. Thanks everyone for your replys - I'm enjoying reading them!!! Mrs B it's good to see you reconise the cache - pretty amazing compared to the numbers of caches out there!!! Yep the Smileys know about the shells and help maintain them with me - I wrote a little article in the log notes for the Falln tree and the a photocopy of the article has been lamitated and set in the cache as a non swop item. It's fairly obvious from the instructions of were the shells are but to be honest I dont think many people go to find them (from their lognotes) Funny enough I reconise your caching name from my hols in the Lake District - it's a small world.... I love hearing pre geocaching caches (or whatever you want to call them!!)
  11. Yep here's mine with a story In April 1998 my parents bought a copy of the Cumbria and Lake District magazine, in the Readers Letters section (Postbox)there was a letter sent in by a Mrs Helen Grundy of Sussex, it goes something like this... "We have been visiting Cumbria together for 30 odd years now, and regretfully decided this past summer had to be our last. All of us are 80, or nearly so, one is partially sighted and one lame, which means we find the mechanics of travel too much now. There was a fourth member of our party who died 20 yrs ago - Miss Winifred Vaisey, who was for 19yrs Diocesan Sunday School Organiser in the Carlisle diocese in the 1930's and 40's. One year we stayed at Howtown. Winifred came straight there after a trip to Iona in Scotland and with her she brought some small sea shells, which as a sort of token, she hid them in the church wall of Martindale Old Church. We love Martindale and have always visited it when we were up there. Each year we have checked that Winifred's shells were still there......" Mrs Grundy goes onto explain where exactly the shells where hidden. These are the shells in the video....
