  1. I hate it when someone publishes a cache series of all pill bottles
  2. I use an assortment of things. I always keep on hand a few more expensive items ($3-$5 range each), I usually get these from the more expensive side of the dollar aisle at WalMart or the clearance aisle for more adult items. For my items for younger kids, I get $1 packages of assorted toys from the party aisle. I always try to buy the one that doesn't seem like junk (I've found nice rubber ballerinas, cool bouncee balls, plastic slinkies, and even small stuffed animals). Another great place is yard sales. I've bought numerous toys in great condition from there that I've placed in caches. Hope this helps.
  3. I'm bookmarking this thread for sure! What a great idea. I may use your services in the future
  4. For me personally, I try to personalize every single cache I make. The most expensive ones (i.e. the painted ammo box or handmade book clock) are Premium Member Only because it protects them from excessive handling and the Intro App users. *Edited for clarity
  5. POsting so as to add this to my watched list of threads.
  6. I love Kyoko's goal! Too bad people don't post photos of the churches Well, here's a couple this particular cacher posted for me I know a lot of people don't post photos, so having this cacher do this was so awesome!
  7. I can tell you as a female college student who caches on her own that there are risks. However, these risks are no more dangerous than going to the store by yourself or walking home on your own. I always check an area otu via google maps before going (unless I know the area) if it looks even remotely dangerous, I just go for a different cache. No harm done.
  8. I have never had something like this happen, but it does scare me a bit. I'm a freshman in college and cache on my own almost all the time.
  9. Not that anyone may care (as it doesn't pertain to your hometowns) but I published two puzzle caches recently and both have been liked by the finders.
  10. One of mine Kyoko Sakura has a goal of visiting churches. All of those who've grabbed it have taken it to various churches, and one woman said she would take it to Notre Dame and post photos of it there.
  11. I just received this log on my newest puzzle cache!
  12. I always try to involve some sort of personal story or interest of mine into whatever cache I'm hiding. I have several based on anime, one inspired by a little girl I babysit from time to time, and an Alice in Wonderland themed hide. The possibilities are endless.
  13. What a beautiful, fun tribute to your wife! I agree. That is amazing. I'm sure she would be very happy.
  14. Wow! That looks great! Thank you so much! I worked hard to try and make it enjoyable for other cachers
  15. I took this photo just before a tornado touched down nearby. This is of a cave not far from where I live.
  16. I just finished up a very intricate paint job on an ammo can. It came out a bit rough on the top and one side, but i think it was overall pretty good. The top, Latch side, The adjacent side, Side 1, And finally, Side 2, This is for an anime-themed cache I'm creating
  17. Not really... being so close to GC30 is kinda cheating the system. Dont get me wrong... I am sure they are excellent caches, but hes placing them very close to an infamous throwdown and thats kinda lame. Try how WVtim does it... he turns his area into a hot spot for geocachers. All on his own without help of some oldie. That stand out in my book. I fail to see the connection. He has more than the hides near Mingo, you know. Some in Hutchinson and some near the Colorado border. One of his was a homemade wooden tractor with a lock on it. You had to figure out the combination from clues on the tractor itself. Then there's one that's a miniature doghouse. A puzzle you have to follow a treasure map to. And many more.
  18. All of Ottieolsen's hides are excellent. Profile: Link
  19. I think I'll resurrect this thread in celebration of my 300th find...
  20. Holy crap. That place is something else. I love out of the way places and being outdoors. Can you send me the cache page link when you've got it published? If I'm ever out that way, I want to find it!
  21. That was what it was like for me. I was with a lot of other teenage girls my age and they all thought it was neat, but I took to it! I loved the thrill of the hunt and where it could take me. This is saying something since the instructors from that day were less than pleasant...
  22. I wouldn't care much for it, but I'm an old fart. The theme sounds fun though, and I'd probably try to figure it out and find. Whenever a ftf prize didn't seem for me, I say "leaving the way-cool FTF prize for the next finder!" in my log. Often, after a ftf a cache sits for a spell around here until the locals have a weekend to play. This gives a bit more incentive for others to fly out, kinda. Thank you for your insight.
  23. I hate jacking this thread, but I wanted some advice. I am going to place two Puzzle caches where I'm going to college, and both are anime themed. If you had to answer questions about animated series and movies, would you be happy with finding a limited edition anime postcard as the FTF prize? What about a stand-alone anime movie?
