I name my own caches by either the area they are in, the theme of the puzzle, the way they are hidden and for a joint hide its called so because of a long story between the two of us friends. I think a series like Loddon valley: Tree swing and Loddon valley: river hideout is better for a cache for archival reasons, and makes them a tad more personal.

I had to check the date of the post to make sure it wasnt an april fool! Odd idea, but it seems good.

Its fine to take a sig item from a cache, they are there to be taken. However i would urge you not to place them in caches yourself as the cacher may only place them in caches they deem "worthy" and by placing it in a cache that does not fit this may annoy them.

In my book, if someone has left something in a cache they wish for someone to take it and wont get to bothered if something of exact equal value is traded for it. However, i try to trade fairly.

People may have got away with close caches by adding a co-ord over 528 away when it wasnt, and changing to co-ords to the correct place which is under 528.

The first attempt on one of my caches near reading: August 26, 2007 by TheRoundings (320 found) 11h30 26 Aug 07. I thought I'd try and be first on the scene for this one being so close by - and I think I was. Problem was, as I started my 'rummage about' in the cache zone, I disturbed a snake in the grass. It was probably more frightened of me than I of it and I doubt it was poisonous but being a scardy-cat I decided to leave and let it be - I didn't want to be another Steve Irwin. SO keep your eye's peeled and think about where you stick your fingers in this location.

I just find whichever cache is nearest my house or one ive dnfed before. If away from home i just do all the ones nearby to where im staying and tery and do the one thats look extra special.
