  1. Unfortunately there are plenty of adults that also seem to operate using this system
  2. go on - just what the Doctor ordered I think going caching in the fresh air is infinitely more healthy than staying inside in a cramped hot stuffy office and besides, you didn't want your co-workers to catch anything from you did you??
  3. No idea - I assume as it was just a bit of paper it wasn't thought worth keeping. It was replaced (I believe) with a requirement that all dogs have a tag with owners name and address on it. But many owners don't realise that. Didn't it get to the point where the price of the license wasn't covering the costs of running the scheme. When realistic prices for the license were discussed there were calls that it would only end up punishing little old ladies who's dog was their only companion, while the irresponsible owners who were the cause of most of the dog problems didn't bother with a license anyway - so in the end they scrapped it. I think they got rid of it as people were buying black&white dogs such as Dalmations becuase the licence was cheaper
  4. In my case it's not the lack of TB action that I find annoying since the holder has only been out a few times since picking it up and only found micro or small caches (the TB is quite large). It's the lack of reply to emails that is particularly frustrating. It doesn't take long to just send a couple of lines confirming everything's ok, or not.
  5. We've neer been bitten by a dog but whilst out caching the other week we were approached by someone with a dog - well I say dog but it was more the size of a small bear!! Ms Chizu is only small and the "bear" took a keen interest in her - the owner was stuggling to keep it under control but he eventually managed to get it away! Was an interesting encounter but we laugh about it now
  6. It is particularly annoying when the happens - we have the same thing with one of our TBs - Zou who is currently in the hands of Lost Tribe. Hope your TB turns up!
  7. Are there any Rules being broken then, they're using the geocache term and charging.... Sue for Copyright infringement. Given that Geo and cache are being used as two words not one, and they were words before Groundspeak used them I doubt it.
  8. 1) Log a note for the cache - usually a found it. 2) Once the note is added, goto edit it. 3) There is a link to upload an image. 4) Browse your HD for the image and upload!
  9. Firstly, you need to have them uploaded somewhere, such as on a cache page. Then in the forums, where you type your message click on the Insert Image Icon above (it has a picture of a tree on it). You then enter teh URL of your picture - usually http://some file location/your picture.jpg
  10. Given that we've been to the Lakes for the last couple of years and will probably go again next year (but our 1st time caching there) we'd certainly be keen.
  11. I would ask the cache owner - it's his cache so it's his call.
  12. In the Edinburgh area I'd choose Haggis Hunter, whose caches are always highly enjoyable and Firth of Forth/Jack Aubrey who are also great
  13. If you want to place micros, go ahead - if people don't like them they don't have to do them! That said, a micro can feel a bit of an anticlimax if the area or place would support a regular-sized cache IMHO. Otherwise I'd say go for it!
  14. Can't do any harm! If I'd thought of it earlier I might have arranged something reciprocal with an Aussie cacher (maybe it could have acted like a Stargate cache or something - I'm just thinking as I type here!), although having an Ashes cache in Scotland might not be so sensible!
  15. If you have GSAK then you can download a Macro to map whatever you've got filtered on Google Maps. Just look in the GSAK forums to find it - it's the best macro I've seen.
  16. on your log for the cache, just click to edit then click on upload images. Your image will be converted to jpg and automatically resized and compressed, although it's better if you do this yourself first.
  17. Glad this one turned out ok and everyone's still friends
  18. Feel free to use any of our images too from our gallery - most of them are available as high res RAW files if that helps.
  19. Anyone placing any to celebrate the start of The Ashes? Cricket themed cache anyone?
  20. So am I! Do you know where you can buy a left-handed GPSr???
  21. The page is www.justgiving.com/hogmanay_hangout the great thing about donating via there is that you also get gift aid claimed on the donation. This money is going to Spinal Injuries Scotland rather than Glasgow Hospital directly as you have to donate to a registered charity using this site. of course, anyone else that wants to donate money to this site is more than welcome!

  23. Hi there - I'll certainly have one. Would you want to donate the money via the donation web page I set up or donate directly into the event? The (mainly) scottish cache forums page is http://geox.easyphpbb.com/index.php so you might want to post there although it sounds that most have already been claimed!
