  1. I thought it was "Technology without an interesting name" Yes it is "Technology" DING goes to the first person who knows who wrote the line "never the twain shall meet"
  2. DING !!!!! Wow not had one of those for a while! Okay - A lot of imaging applications such as scanners and digital cameras use a TWAIN interface. 1) what is the original source of the word twain? 2) What unofficial acronym does it stand for? Neither of these questions have technical answers!
  3. Actually to be really pedantic, lots of people have said them, usually misquoting a popular source
  4. We keep getting notifications just fine, maybe your premium membership has expired for some reason?
  5. I could be wrong, but in Japanese stuff I've always seen Manga written in katakana in japanese texts, but it's possible that that's because it's so young japanese can read it, given that the kanji are quite complex?
  6. Note: Manga, even though it might look like it means something in Japanese, doesn't actually. This is shown by the fact that Manga is always written in katakana and there is no kanji combination for it, which there would be if it actually officially "meant" anything.
  7. DING Would also have accepted bellows, binoculars, forceps, gallows, glasses, pliers, scissors, shears, tongs, scissors, pyjamas, hustings, braces, briefs, jeans, knickers, pants, shorts, and tights (from http://www.askoxford.com ) entrails is another I believe.

  11. Cuba is a wonderful country to visit - we went a few years ago and really want to go back. We weren't caching then so we'll have to go back at some point!
  12. And another hello from Edinburgh (home) and Glasgow (work) !
  13. Apart from your own front garden of course!
  14. I think if I'd been asked that in a real Pub Quiz I would have walked out...
  15. If there was climbing involved I probably wouldn't do it for fear of heights, but I'd still say go for it - the bigger variety of caches the better!
  16. We're planning a couple in Holyrood Park on Boxing Day - weather permitting!
