You can debate that topic on a relevant thread if you so choose, regardless of whether this thread is still active or not. If you feel that you have nothing further to add here, please feel free to contribute to one of the seventeen or so active discussions elsewhere in the forums on the subject of micros. As for the original question, it is still not clear why requiring that people visit a particular place of business in order to claim credit for an event cache is acceptable, despite it being a direct violation of the rules as written, yet providing information ahead of time about what to expect at that place of business requires the intervention of the reviewers. dave

I think the concept here is to have a clear screen protector... you know, so you can still read what's on the screen? dave

My family lives in the Kingston area, so that's my secondary caching location. I hope to grab a few of the BN2 caches this weekend, in fact...

Mr Greywynd... please pick up the white courtesy phone.

If you're trying to save money, you should use camo duct tape, since most cachers have a stash of that already. dave

I know exactly what you mean... It looks like showshoes is not the only thing you forgot. But at least you have a hat to protect you from the sun. dave

Why does my post say Milkbone? dave

Why are multis less popular?
Fish Below The Ice replied to PlantAKiss's topic in General geocaching topics
The other unknown factor with regard to multis is that you have to read the cache page ahead of time to know if you're looking for containers containing coordinates, or if you're going to be copying numbers down off a plaque. If I'm planning a day of caching, I'll sit down and read the descriptions of the caches I'm going to hit and will prepare printouts for the caches that require me to collect information. If I'm out of town and decide to grab some caches on a whim I won't have this option, so I'll almost certainly stick entirely to traditionals. dave -
Juicepig guessed it would be me, so it looks like he's right. You're up, JP. dave

I bet this is how res2100 felt when he was sitting up at 3am waiting for GC10000 to become available. dave

OK, my question is: Who is going to make post #2000 in this thread? dave

#1 and #3 each have Haida canoe-themed sculptures in them, so I'm going to guess that #2 does, too. dave

7 Deadly Caching Sing "Gluttony" Geocoins
Fish Below The Ice replied to Dr. Whoever's topic in Trackables
I haven't seen any news about the rest of this series, nor has there been any mention in the newsletter. Are the last five Sins going to be released? dave -
Woo hoo! One of mine was one of the two! That was the first movement of either of my coins since the original drop. Now I need you to go to Australia and drop it there. :-) My other coin is missing since July, so you can probably mark it red. :-( dave

Collecting all the stages for GCVHWJ: The Bunny Made Me Do It. dave

Looks like one of mine has already been stolen. :-( Dropped off in a TB hotel on the 16th and mentioned in log as being missing on the 27th. One of the people in between says they saw it and the other said they didn't. I'm hoping that someone is on a cross-country tour and is taking their sweet time about logging it... dave

How do you stop the PAF network?
Fish Below The Ice replied to kailster's topic in General geocaching topics
In these parts, most puzzle caches are done with no hints, no gentle nudges, and no coord confirmation until after FTF. I don't understand why anybody would interfere with the sanctity of the FTF race by giving out private spoilers to anybody. dave -
Geocaching is what it is, so it seems pointless to criticise it for not being what it's not. If you want to follow directions rather than lat/long coordinates, maybe you should check out letterboxing. letterboxing.org or atlasquest.com are good places to start. dave

7 Deadly Caching Sing "Gluttony" Geocoins
Fish Below The Ice replied to Dr. Whoever's topic in Trackables
Oooh. Start me out at LUST. And GREED. And ENVY. Those are nice coins. Q1. Is it possible to pre-order the entire set so I don't run the risk of missing one? Q2. "Rhodium" means "shiny"? dave -
I'm jealous of all you folks in GA who will be seeing lots of cool coins in every cache for the next few months now that your area is flooded with new supply. That's what it was like in Toronto this time last year. So send some of those racers back north! dave

Is this a reissue of the original coin or the v2 coin? Also, re the 7 deadly geocaching sins: :PB) Looks like it's ramen for dinner for me for a month once those come out. dave
