  1. There are a number of caches in the area north of DFW, not sure about Grosebeck. If you want to meet some other caches, plan a visit to Tatum (just south of Longview) on the 23rd & 24th. There is a Fish Fry on Friday night, Saturday breakfast event, CITO, and a Community Celebration Event with live entertainment.
  2. There's an Ark-La-Tex Community Celebration Event on the 24th in Tatum, TX. Also. CITO that morning. Come on down.
  3. Lemme guess. You just downloaded the Babble app....
  4. I hope by "Mark them as found on my computer" the OP means "write a bit about my adventures while finding the cache placed by someone else".
  5. Privately send missives to all friends who have logger Will Attend, asking them to change to a Note. That will save face with your reviewer, and still leave room for others to log WA.
  6. I'm hosting my Spring Fish Fry soon with about 45 folks expected. We expect a few more than that the next day for our CITO & Community Celebration Event. Come on out to East Texas!
  7. Thanks to everyone for the information you provided. Some of these bits of info have found their way into cache descriptions, and will be used for an up-coming Ark-La-Tex Community Celebration Event.
  8. The date and favorite points
  9. For an upcoming Community Celebration Event, I am trying to determine the date of the first cache published of each cache type. NOT the oldest active cache of each, but the first published as that cache type. I know some early caches were 'adjusted' after publication. We all know May 3, 2000 "The Original Stash" for the first Traditional, and the first Event was GC389 - Austin Geocachers Happy Hour on 3/24/2001. I believe "Kennesaw Mtn. Virtual Cache" as the first published Virtual. What about the first published as a Multi cache, was it "Tombstone"? What are the others: Letterbox Hybrid? Any before "Slices of Quince"? Wherigo? "Where I went, Hugo"? Webcam? Any before "Leeds Web-Cam Cache"? Mystery/Unknown? Any before "Octopus Garden"? Earthcache? "Earthcache I - a simple geology tour of Wasp Head? Lab Cache? - I remember some at "Geowoodstock 14er - 2016", were there any prior to that event? I've researched a bit and come up with the ones cited above. Can anyone confirm my answers or provide the correct ones? Thank you in advance for the help.
  10. @onepooja Does HQ keep track of which accounts tick the Upvote on each cache log? Can a cacher vote a log as both Helpful and Good Story? Is a cacher limited as to the number of logs they can upvote on a cache listing, or over all caches?
  11. I read this on the Trackable Page: " A few days after Perseverance lands on Mars, the camera will take a picture of the tracking code itself and send that picture back to Earth. You can log the Rover by finding the code in that picture. "
  12. From the Trackable Page.... <quote> The trackable code is specially printed on a one-inch, unique, glass disk that is part of the rover’s calibration target. Cameras and other tools on the rover use calibration targets to determine accurate colors, brightness, focus, and other information. This calibration target is specifically for the SHERLOC’s WATSON camera. The SHERLOC instrument is a spectrometer on the rover’s arm that uses laser light to classify minerals and look for organic compounds. WATSON, its sidekick camera system, is used for engineering, operations and science imaging on the surface of Mars. How can I log this trackable if I’m not also going to Mars? If you’re not blasting off anytime soon, don’t worry! You’ll still be able to log the Mars Rover in the second half of February 2021. The tracking code is on the WATSON camera’s calibration target. A few days after Perseverance lands on Mars, the camera will take a picture of the tracking code itself and send that picture back to Earth. You can log the Rover by finding the code in that picture. </quote>
  13. Looks like time for the League of ID Geocachers to add another puff of smoke or maybe rails to the locomotive. Truly impressive art in that one.
  14. Welcome aboard. Caches aren't removed if the listing is still active. As you said, you are new. You may not have the right idea of what type container you are seeking. A micro container can be anything from the size of your fingernail up to an average pill bottle. A small can be anything from that pill bottle up to a litre-size container. When you get to the place as determined by your device, stop looking at the pointer and look around for a place to hide something of the size in the listing.
  15. I would look for a small voice recorder instead of pencil & paper to record your notes.
  16. If the thingy the OP is talking about hiding is a geocache, then I suggest reading the Guidelines on the website a few times, to become familiar with all the various requirements and limitations.
  17. The OP should be happy that the finder actually added sentences in the log, instead of just an emoji or two without any words.
  18. Are we allowed to log this more than one time? Can I log this daily, if I pick up rubbish during my morning walk?
  19. Why don't you tell us what type of thingy you want to hide?
  20. Try logging out then back in. That works for many things on Geocaching.com
  21. 14 years but only 112 finds. That may be why they don't seem to know much.
  22. Use a browser to view the disabled cache pages. Get the coordinates and find the caches as normal. Also, maybe send a note to the local Reviewer.
