  1. Of only there were some instructions to newbies as a part of the process when to open an account explaining that they Find the cache, Sign the log inside, Replace it as found, then Log it online.
  2. Removing it from the blinkie is not necessary. I use a sharpie and mark the part of the log I can see. .
  3. Does that one cache have a non-standard character or an emoji in its name? Your gps may not recognize it & skips it.
  4. Just hide you own cache(s) and take care of them. You can also set up a Notification for Needs Archived logs, and maybe contact those Cache Owners about adopting their cache with issues. Be ready for a lot of No Thank Yous when you ask.
  5. I'm sure there is something broken in the link to the search engine. They seem to activate things before it has been fully vetted.
  6. That would explain why I can't click your caches found. When I click on any of the others above, including @Bl4ckH4wkGER , When I try to see the Mega Events they have attended, I always get the grey frog DNF, 0 Results found, even though their profile shows they have attended several Megas. There is something broken in this search.
  7. It seems you can see my events attended, but I can't see yours. The cache types on your profile aren't even clickable to me. Something is amiss, somewhere.
  8. I wouldn't know, because I can't even see any of your finds nor events attended. This functioned as recently for me as within the last couple of weeks. Why do they try to fix (and break) things that weren't broken?
  9. It wasn't very long ago I could click the profile of a player & then click the events they had attended to see a list of them, and see if I had attended the same event. That is not possible today. This is CRITICAL too me, as I have Friend Requests from cachers that I may have met at an event, but now do not have a way to confirm. Is this due to the cache lists now being a result of the failed new search function, instead of the way it was done before that change? When things work for the users, why do developers change them?
  10. I recently received a Friend Request from another player. I didn't recognize the name, so I clicked their profile. Their home is listed a few states away. OK, maybe I met them at an event. I click to see which Megas they attended, to try to narrow my memory. All I get, instead of the list of over a dozen Megas they attended, is a failed Search results page. IS THIS A RESULT OF THE NEW PRIVACY SETTINGS or A RESULT OF A NEW FAILED SEARCH BUG? Either one, there is something not right with the way things are being changed by the developers.
  11. User convenience is my first thought. Continuity of user experience (comfort?) is another.
  12. Will my selection be retained when I reopen the app, or will I be required to reset it to my desired choice every time I open the app?
  13. Why would the old version be retired before the new version is properly functional?
  14. Archived caches are a very useful bit of information about another geocacher. Why would that go away??
  15. I thought the app was for finding geocaches, not geocachers. Use the Message Center to contact another geocacher.
  16. There are a few atop Pikes Peak. Pretty easy access, unless things have been changed.
  17. Cool Easter egg, but it looks like the point is a Benchmark rather than a geocache.
  18. Did you save the answers to your Earthcache finds as cache notes on each page, or somewhere else? If so, you can reply when the cache owner asks for your answers, or if they delete your find, you can send answers and log again.
  19. This forum needs a sad face emoji.
  20. Huge kudos to a Reviewer @Keystonewho quickly published 71 geocaches that were dumped on him 2 days before Christmas. I'm not sure why anyone could find a reason to complain about that. They would probably complain if you hung them with a new rope.
  21. If I attempted this geocache, and arrived at the final calculated coordinates, searched only to find nothing, I would be disappointed. IF I then read your hint (which I seldom do) I would be very upset and log a NA immediately. You should probably add the field puzzle attribute to this cache. Or have the final coordinates actually take the finder to GZ.
  22. Maybe nominate him as "Cacher of the Month" or to the Hall of Fame of your State Geocaching Association.
  23. Yeah, as if the CO was referring to a different geocache when they said it was missing. Weird indeed
  24. I see the cache was disabled by the owner, and has had a note placed by the Reviewer. The CO (cache owner) has since (on 9/28) placed a note seemingly indicating they will replace/repair the container. It is reasonable to expect the cache to be fixed within a month or so. Does your State Park have a Geocache Placement policy in place? My local State Park (Martin Creek Lake SP) requires a permit to be on file (free of charge and basically little more than a description of the cache, location placed, and owner contact information).
