  1. Sweetlife my international mission seems to have got to you before my local mission -go figure. Seeing as I only posted it on Thursday last week think Royal Mail and US postal did a fine job. Glad you liked the coin - I was a tad daunted when I saw just how extensive your collection was
  2. If you refer back to the first post in this thread it will remind you of what you have signed up for.......... Do you not already have the name and address of who you should be sending to??? If not you will have to wait for BL to get back from work and she can remind you. If you have not received your mission yet BL can also check that and when it was sent to you.
  3. This makes more sense to me...why should they receive a gift when they don't want to put the effort into passing along a gift (that they committed to!) to an unsuspecting participant?? What a shame that there are going to be people not receiving their mission because someone "didn't have time". Flame me if you want but I think it's rude not to send a mission if you signed up to do so. No matter what the reason...sorry, but that's just my feeling. But on a more pleasant note, I too would be willing to send a small something to any mission participants who will not be receiving a gift... ELTADA

ELTADA Exactly what I had been thinking....seeing as the mission was supposed to be posted by 10th November - they have left it a little late now to come online and say they won't be taking part (and even then it was only after chasing by BL for information). He is right work is important but surely he was aware of those commitments when he signed up for the mission (which clearly stated from the start all requirements)
  5. Just two to check in now..... Does anyone know Cav Scout or CTKayak - can anyone check that they are ok - they are not responding to emails.... Anyone seen or heard anything???? Life throws us curlies now & then ~ ~ ~ so anything could have happened. We would like to hear 1. that outgoing missions have been mailed. 2. Incoming mission has been received safely. Well, it's good to hear that things are OK. Maybe when you get enough spare time, you can let everyone know what you received as your surprise gifts. Or maybe they could send them to the person they received the mission for

BL Does that mean that CS is not sending a mission??? If so could you send me the addy of Cavscouts swapee I'd like to send them a little something, why should they miss out?
  7. Still loads of time before christmas. I am expecting loads of stuff from US which is taking much longer than usual at the moment. I'm sure BL will be along when she wakes up to let you know what is happening.
  8. Depends where you are and where you are sending it to, but at this time of year postal systems are stretched to the limits so normal timing don't apply
  9. OMg as an expat Kiwi (currently exiled in cold wet windy England) I've got to get myself one of those, so if I'm not your swapee can you let me know where I can get one from??????
  10. Both missions sent ..... Local sent 2nd class (but should still be there by Friday) International sent airmail (who knows when that will arrive). Thanks again to BL and the pengiuns for the hard work
  11. Sometimes I will work on a local stick I find on my hike, and leave it behind when I leave. They are not fancy, but are trimmed and the rough spots removed. These would be nice to attach and leave for whoever the next hiker is. I usually leave them leaning against the gate at the trailhead. Robert that sounds great any chance you can come and Cache in the UK for awhile????? Love the sound of finding one of these on a trip out. Michelle
  12. one of my people has one of the biggest coin collections I have ever seen....off to find a coin they haven't got (I maybe gone awhile)
  13. there were Five Garmin Geocoins.....Big Ben, London Eye, Angel of the North, Clifton Suspension Bridge and Stonehenge..... Not sure the volume of each coin produced though
  14. So glad that the box arrived safely.... I was worried about sending the reindeer that plays a tune (thought the postman might want to look inside to take a peek). Glad you like the coins, and thanks for putting Ruddolph Duck TB into a German cache for us.....Weihnachtstraume sounds like the perfect one for him to start in.
  15. Count me in as well (I couldn't wait and have already opened my Santa mission - so I need something to look forward to) Michelle email sent (twice forgot the email addy) and I may have forgotten to include my caching name? Sorry
  16. Why don't you try TPTB (at geocaching.com) they may have a more accurate idea of caches in the UK. When you register on the site you need to declare your details........ The GAGB maybe be able to assist as well
  17. Thanks you not sure how I managed to change that
  18. With the forum??? when I log on now and select a thread to read all I get is the first post on the thread and then a list of posts on the thread when I click on one of the posts is comes up with a red error. What have I done have I broke it? Help
  19. Due to work I won't be doing one in Edinburgh either, (hint, hint, situation also available) but if someone else organises one I may be able to make it for the 15 minutes before going to work. double post
  20. Due to work I won't be doing one in Edinburgh either, (hint, hint, situation also available) but if someone else organises one I may be able to make it for the 15 minutes before going to work. Im good to go for an Essex one unless of course anyone else wants to organise it
  21. Doing a happy dance here parcel received and opened (sorry was never good at the patience thing). Thanks to Brewmeister and Kids for the huge supply of candy and lovely christmas tree ornaments and the lovely Cystic Fibrosis coin (could you please send me details on how to activate the coin). Cann't beieve the ridiculous postage charge you had to pay from the States to here. I sent a huge shoe box to Europe recently and it only cost me £5.00 (and that was on prioirity mail. Thanks again and BL that means I'm in the PINK
  22. Geoswag in the US have a nice selection and post to the UK they do charge an international handling and shipping charge (which I don't mind) and also the US postal charge (which I do mind paying as well). Ebay also have a good selection. Unfortunately I don't know of any other UK suppliers with a big selection
