  1. Recently came face to face with a nice sized snake while caching in oklahoma....this was a total wake up call and I will never again step off the trail without a little poking with a stick first!!!!
  2. After an all girls caching trip this weekend had to add another reply--- this guy was waiting for me on a cache on the talimena drive in Oklahoma.... I stepped off the trail to search for a cache-- first place I looked there sat this snake and I FROZE!! Luckily the other girls were more experienced after snapping a pic she used a stick to get it on it's way--- Then we logged the cache--But I was sure to more more careful the rest of the day!!
  3. I have only been caching a few months now-- but we cache with the kids-- and they are really disappointed to find a cache full of broken items-- so we have come up with The Bag of Swag-- we shop at walmart and the dollar store-- getting things like balls, rocks, jacks, rings, pencils, keychains-- party supplies are the best-- then use sandwich bags-- putting 5-10 small children's items in to stock the cache containers for kids to come in the future!!
  4. This is a great idea....put me down for Oklahoma....can the people who are maintaining the caches just find 49---so that they can log the finds? Also, should we all send something from our state for the final cache? I didn't see that someone had already taken oklahoma....I will watch for this listing.....This is a great idea.
  5. We average 13 or 14 if we are going to make a day if it!!! I cache with my three kids and if we are going to go somewhere just to cache we want to make sure that we find a lot!!! I would love to find someone to cache with -- just to see how many I could get without the kids!! This is the greatest sport!!!!
  6. I feel a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment from signing my name on the log. I say delete!!!!!!!!!
  7. I am new and also hooked on geocaching. I have a gps but can't figure out how to download....working on that...for now though I keep small notebooks. When I am planning a caching trip I hand right each cache out with street directions using google maps. This has been working so far. When I find a cache I log the date and trade on same sheet in notebook. This makes logging online very simple-- all the info is right there! Now that I have typed it all out seems like a lot of work.
  8. Of all the wonderful, sexy, smart, great men that were mentioned, I can't help but add Josh Lucas and Patrick Dempsey.
  9. While looking for cache Antler's Spring in oklahoma was attacked by fire ants--didn't think much of it at the time, but they were fast and there were so many of them- it was hard to get them all off.....legs were on fire the rest of the day....by the way had to leave before cache was found...went back later when all others were found in the area -- found cache quickly wearing husband's rubber boots.
  10. This is the first post for me....I am a stay at home mom and I have been out caching almost everyday since we started a little over a month ago...It seem so exciting to me, but I think that with time it will wear down.
