  1. Just got into caching on easter sunday 04/16/06 Was introduced to it by Team Banzai at a Easter get-together. Lovin it, only been doing it 5 days and I have about 20. Something to do on lunchbreak every day, and good marital quality time every weekend.
  2. Ever see "Deliverance"? Seriously, most big animals know you're coming a mile away and leave. You can warn most little ones by tapping a walking stick in front of you. Terrain is usually not dangerous to anyone with common sense. Humans on the other hand can be far more aggressive and unreasonable.
  3. You could try the group thing again, I'd go much smaller and let these guys find it first to observe their habits. I'd also be very sure before I accuse anyone of anything. If it's not them after all that's a serious foot-in-mouth. If you figure out it is them for sure and they don't respond to polite suggestions, you could always try beating them senseless. How bout a cache that appears on webcam, but with no mention of the webcam, so you can keep an eye on it? I screenshot of them ruining a site would go a long way. At least then after you posted that they would probably feel the pressure from the whole geo community and not just you.
  4. I have a t-mobile sidekick. no GPS, but works great in conjunction with GPS. Can surf to www.geocaching.com to perform searches and retreive coords. Takes pictures. Battery lasts all day. Anythings durable enough for anything if you're careful enough. Seriously though, I worry less about my cell on hikes. I've hurt it worse dropping it on concrete than I ever will dropping it in the dirt or grass. BONUS: today I needed to answer a stupid golf trivia question to solve some coords. I know nothing about golf, but on my sidekick I just googled it!
  5. Famous last words. lol, I only use it for geocaching now, and I literally enter the waypoint I am looking for, and then delete it once I find it. (counting "home" and "work" which I keep stored to search for the nearest caches, that's about 3 in my system at any given time) But I suppose if my needs ever change though it'll be nice to have that much longer before I outgrow this unit.
  6. Thanks for the advice, I did go with the Legend! I don't think I'll be DLing anything or filling up my WPs anytime soon, but the basemaps just might come in handy.
  7. Are the basemaps the only difference or does one get better accuracy/reception? How important would you say the basemaps are? Just starting out here. Thanks
