  2. Yeah, it's a bug. If I click on 'View Rubbertoe's Public Profile', it's supposed to take me to your Geocaching.com profile. Elias is working on it. It's been mentioned here amongst other places. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  3. You don't need all the maps along the route, but autorouting won't work too well. Your best bet is to upload the maps at your destination, and create a route in MapSource to get you there. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  4. Yep, thanks for a super-fun day. Well done Boysie for controlling himself in the presence of The Cat! Looking forward to the next one. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  5. quote:Originally posted by 101325:On a slightly more serious note, why have my posts gone down to 2? New forums. It's to do with the fact that our posts were moved across in batches. I had well over 200 posts last week, but not now! SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  6. There's a step-by-step guide in Markwell's Additions to the FAQ. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  7. What's this got to do with Groundhog Day? SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  8. It really depends on whether you want them to count as four separate 'finds' or just one. If you submit the whole series as a single cache, it's a multi. If you submit them as four distinct caches, each with their own cache page, you've got three normal caches and one multi, just like OS X. As for how you publish a cache without a location, just use nearby coordinates. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  9. Can I suggest we all wear stickers with our names on like we did at the Xmas Bash. That eliminated a lot of 'And you are...?'ing. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  10. quote:Originally posted by Mopar:I don't know. While discussing this earlier tonite, it occured to me that this feature would require gc.com to render each cache page each user. It was brought up that it would be no different then the TB icon, but in effect it would be. The TB is a semistatic item, and once added to the cache page, can stay there until it's removed, at which time a user is adding a log and rendering a new page anyway. If you added a "found" icon to the page, it would have to be rendered for each user. Surely it would be no different to the edit/delete options around your own logs? SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  11. quote:Originally posted by Lapaglia:Modifing my request. would someone please reference the place where Jeremy said no to the OT forums on the new boards? Okay. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  12. quote:Originally posted by Lapaglia:With the new forums is it now possible to have the often requested Off-Topic Fourm? No. Jeremy said so just recently. I'd tell you where, but you asked not to be Markwelled. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  13. quote:Originally posted by Liz Codd:Hey a GOOD "new feature"!! The ability to go straight to page 2 of a thread without having to see the first page. Actually, you always could go straight to the last page by clicking on the name in the Last Post column. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  14. I just came across this thread. You might be interested in this program, which does the same thing. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  15. You might be better posting this in the UK forum. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  16. Good one Michael! I don't think I'd have twigged if I hadn't decrypted the hint - the whole 'Phil & Liz' thing went way over my head! SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  17. Hi Phil & Liz, I can understand Tim & June's concern about the dogs, but I can see how it could be turned to your advantage. Could you train your dogs to attack people who get close to the cache? Obviously you'd have to make it a 5 for difficulty. Alternatively you could train them to attack anyone holding a GPSr, whichever would be easiest. Oh, and I'd remove the reference to the dogs from the cache page so it would be a surprise when you got there. I think this would make a fun twist. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  18. This is a shame. I don't believe that any of your posts has been meant maliciously, or intended to stir up trouble - which is more than I can say for some of the people who post here! People seem all too ready to presume that a post was meant nastily, especially if they disagree with the opinion being expressed. This is frustrating, but can be avoided with a bit of thoughtful wording. If in doubt, throw in some smiley faces! I'd persevere for a bit longer if I were you, but I can understand the way you feel. Even if you leave the forum, though, please keep logging finds online. In doing so you provide valuable information for the owner and potential seekers, and I guarantee that the owner enjoys reading your logs! SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  19. Try Multimap. You can't enter house number, though - just street and zip code. The coordinates are shown in the 'Map Information' section under the map. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  20. quote:Originally posted by Sel:We don't want rules and regulations. That's what a) the internet and the open country are all about. Try telling that to the landowners! As geocaching grows, it will be regulated. Either we regulate ourselves or we wait for regulations to be imposed upon us. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  21. quote:Originally posted by Kouros: quote:Originally posted by jstead:That's not all - if I follow the link to the cache quoted in the post by Stuey/SimonG/Omally I only get to the Hide/Seek a Cache page! Now that is odd, as the links work fine for me! I think it's only the link in Stuey's post that doesn't work - a couple of HTML tags have somehow gotten into the URL it links to. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  22. This thread used to have a lot more posts too. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  23. That's interesting - the <shudder> in my original post seems to have got lost in the transfer to the new forums, but it's still there where Stuey quoted me. Most strange. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  24. quote:Originally posted by Bill D (wwh):Some of our avatars are missing. I'm seeing some people's but not others. And mine is one of the missing ones. Actually it's not just avatars - the icons aren't on the buttons in the Post A Reply window. I can see your avatar, and all the icons. Maybe you need to do a refresh or something? SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  25. quote:Originally posted by Elias:If the forums "think" your browser can't support the new user interface, then it'll show you the old one. Personally I like the new layout, but for the benefit of people who don't, is there any way to trick the forums into thinking your browser can't support it? SimonG.org - now with added blog!
