  1. Well I wouldn't call this a spooky coincidence, but it's similar to a couple of Dan's examples. A while back I was working on a new multicache which began by taking you to two locations in the town of Thaxted. I knew there was already a cache in Thaxted, because I'd seen the waypoint in MapSource, but it wasn't near my two locations so I wasn't worried about it. Anyway, I was preparing to go to Thaxted and work out exactly where I was going to place the micros, and I thought, while I'm there I might as well find that other cache. So I visited the cache page and found that it too was a multi, which takes you to both the locations I was planning to use! I had to hastily relocate the beginning of my series to another village nearby. SimonG.org - now with added blog!

I thought I'd made this post in a thread in the General forum, but when I looked again it wasn't there, so I made it again. I was most confused. So now I've said it twice. Oh well. 3. It's the number of finds you had last time that page was generated. As for the most recent find being wrong, might you have logged the two caches you found on that day in the wrong order? When I look at your list of found caches, the one that has you at 51 finds is at the top. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  4. This team might be able to help. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  5. So who wants to predict when we'll reach GCZZZZ? My money's on May 10th 2006. SimonG.org - now with added blog!

  7. A couple of potention problems spring to mind. Firstly, the rules disallow 'vacation caches', including virtuals it seems. Depending on how long you're going to be there this may be an issue. Secondly, you're not supposed to 'place' a virtual anywhere that you could have placed a physical cache, so you'll have to pick your spot carefully. Hopefully these won't prove major stumbling blocks for you, but they seemed worth mentioning. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  8. I have no advice to offer. I just wanted to respond in the hope of getting a mention in your will. SimonG.org - now with added blog!

  19. Looks like you've found an opening for a new game, and you're going to fillet. Oops, wrong thread! SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  20. quote:Originally posted by Wronskian:Any chance we can get this thread locked down? Since it doesn't look like it's going to get locked, I suggest we take it so far off topic that no one knows what it's about anymore. So, has anyone else tried backwards-triangulating a WAAS-enabled benchmark? My datum keeps getting markwelled by my recursive websucker. SimonG.org - now with added blog!

  22. Great news about the HCC event! Well done to those involved. Can you make sure it's not on July 19th though? I've promised to catsit on that day, and I don't want to miss it! SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  23. For the benefit of those who never stray outside the UK forum, geocaching.com has been nominated for a Webby's People's Voice Award. It's well ahead of the competition, but a few more votes can't hurt! The relevant thread in the General forum is here, and here's the site where you can vote (you have to register first). 24. I've cracked it! I have nothing to contribute to the discussion. I just wanted to brag. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
  25. Lots of caches require solving puzzles of some kind. Personally I like them. Actually, it's similar to this cache of mine, which has been quite well received. SimonG.org - now with added blog!
