  1. In advanced options is "Display Large Text?" checked? Sending large #'s of logs to any model will slow it down. Use the minimum # you can live with. v7.2.9 fix for 800-Series Nuvi. No, I made sure that the large text was not checked. I have a 750 also and it is a smaller font with the same exact settings.
  2. I had the exact same problem using the 885T. Set it to the 7** series and it works fine except the regular font is too large for the screen.
  3. FYI. I did about a five hour hike/geocache trek today the the Oregon 400t with beta 2.93 and it must have shut off 20+ times. I reset, changed batteries and nothing helped. Ran it the other day all day long and never had a problem. I will let the Garmin Beta team know.
  4. REI Leaks Garmin Oregon 500 Series GPS Review Looks like REI has let the cat out of the bag with the new Garmin Oregon 500 and Garmin Oregon 500T. They appear nearly identical to the Oregon 400 and 400t combinations except the new models add a digital camera to the device. ... GPS Review - http://www.gpsreview.net/
  5. I tried it in 2.85 and to me it seems to act the same way as you describe in 2.86. I do see what you mean, but never paid attention to it before. Guess that part of the screen is isolated so the buttons will work as planned.
  6. Since I was one of the requesters I want to be one of the first to say thanks, thanks once again.
  7. I know more than one person who I cache with have stated they would like to see the current filter as their way of using the macro. Several of us are using the macro with great success. The "current filter" option would be a huge addition to the macro. In GSAK 7.5 they do have that as a option for uploading to the Colorado/Oregon series. Just to clarify it is the Colorado/Oregon Export Macro that is very popular that has "use current filter". I've looked at this before....the macro does a lot of filtering "on the fly" to create the gpx files by cache type, found, unavailable, etc. So the current filter needs to saved and restored and joined with each of the cache type filters (could be up to 8 times). I've had difficulty getting this to work correctly in the past. I just need to take another look at it. j That is all we do is ask. If possible it would be great. Thanks for your effort.

  9. Just FWIW. With the 2.85 beta the battery meter seemed better at showing the proper discharge during a 10 hour cache trip today. I encountered no problems with profile changes and it is taking some getting use to on the custom POI directory change. I do like that if you know the type of cache you are going to next (trad, multi etc) you just have to look there for the poi for parking, trail heads etc. FYI, I have GSAK 7.5 and have been using the gps download that came with it. No complaints so far.
  10. Yes, just before it turns itself off it will beep and give you a warning. Just before that the one green bar turns to red. That is the time to change. I get 12-14 hours on the same set of Duracell rechargeable 2650 mah. The meter is not very useful but once you get use to it you know what to expect. Same thing with very fast to 2 bars but stays there forever.
  11. Glad you are enjoying your Oregon. This link will answer most of your questions. http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/Geocaching
  12. Many thanks. You have the greatest customer service I have ever seen. Keep up the good work. The check is in the mail.
  13. Just to clarify. In GSAK when you click on the note column next to the cache name you have two fields you can fill in. USER NOTES and LOG SECTION. User notes would be the solution to a puzzle etc. Log section would be the log you write and then send on to GC.com to log your find. I use the export macro for the Colorado/Oregon and keep the notes in my database. When running your macro for my found caches to export it includes both type of notes. Again, not that big of a deal, just wondering if that was the way you intended for it to be.
  14. Same results here but for me it is not that big of a deal. I did find that I am getting the user notes (great) and also the USER LOG (not so great for me). Is this the way the macro was intended for the results. If so I can live with it. Great to have the user notes.
  15. This should help as it is very confusing at times getting exactly what you want. Getting geocaches along a route is very helpful on a trip but that is another lesson. http://support.Groundspeak.com/Support/ind...d=5&nav=0,5
  16. Here is the place that should answer most of your questions. Hope you enjoy your trip and your Oregon. http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/Geocaching
  17. For me first before the logs indicating it came from the GSAK notes section where I would keep such information for caches to find and my notes on caches I have found. Thanks a bunch and Happy Holidays. CDS231
  18. I would also be very much interested in this being added to this great macro. The reasons the "Joker" stated are the same as mine. I know it was asked for earlier but perhaps it was over looked. Thanks, CDS231
  19. g-o-cachers has a link here; wrong link that was just the information for the versions. Let me look and I may have another url.
  20. it was the background with the stones There must be a really bad virus in the garmin laboratory. I have had the very same thing happen since going to 2.8.
  21. I noticed the same here after the 2.8 upgrade. For g-o-cachers. WAAS still sucks.
  22. Oregon 400T updated to 2.7/2.58 Problem: In geocaching mode with shaded relief enabled. Turn power off. When turned back on unit is not remembering the shaded relief setting. Have to go back in and reset through setup. No 3D confirmed. Anyone else having the same problem with the shaded relief setting? I really wonder if Garmin tries this stuff out before they release it.
  23. Most of the answers to your questions can be found here: http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/
  24. Almost all of your questions can be answered here: http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/ It has to be one of the most thorough, unbiased place to find information on the Oregon. Go through all of the information and I believe most of your questions will be answered. Thanks to g-o-cachers
  25. Maybe I am a day late and a $ short but a new update for the 700 series Nuvi. Hope this is an answer to the only frustration I have ever had with my 750 and this excellent macro. * Corrected shutdown issue associated with an active proximity alert or tour guide alert. Change History Changes made from version 3.10 to 4.10: * Improvement in MAD Maps performance. * Added Australian traffic support. * Corrected reboot issue while installing language guide at power up. * Corrected shutdown issue associated with an active proximity alert or tour guide alert. * Support for more GPI files. * Fixed an error in MSN news reports where a report could be lost. I use both macros from time to time for the PDA function. Thanks to both developers.
