  8. The Plot Thickens.... This sounds all to familiar to a ranger out in Icicle Creek near Leavenworth that has it in for climbers and stakes out certain parking lots for people who choose not to participate in the fee demo program, but don't get me started on that! Its really too bad that an agency official has taken such a childish approach to dealing with a cache that may/or may not have caused negative impact to the resource. I wish you guys luck in getting to the bottom of this GAPER!

  12. definately a troll i'd have to vote on this one being a troll. a real agency employee wouldn't have referred to him/herself as "ranger dick" furthermore, they would be more professional about removing the cache, much like the folks in PDX did. to me, this appears to be someone who either saw people finding this cache, or stumbled upon it and didn't like the idea of people damaging the vegetation. this reminds me alot of an individual that removed "bolts" from rock climbing routes near Vantage on the columbia river, someone just on a solo mission to spoil others fun GAPER!

  19. I've heard the RINO's are hard to come by, wont' really be available until this fall. I'd also be very curious what the battery life is like on the RINO unit when using all the features...not a big deal for day geocaching, but for prolonged wilderness jaunts, this would be good to know. On that note, I reccomend buying an FRS unit that allows you to access the NOAA weather frequencies, this always comes in handy. GMRS is a fancy option as well, and I really dont' think you have to register with the FCC I know you can also purchase a High-Band radio, basically a portable HAM, and program in all the FRS channels. You can find these for about $80, and the customization options are far greater than that of an FRS. And if you get HAM certified, Oh the places you'll go. gapertimmy GAPER! 23. Thanks NavDog I had noticed quite a few caches showing up in the 3 Sisters Wilderness as of late, and it just got me thinking (one is even on top of South Sister!) It will be interesting to see how government agencies react as the sports popularity grows. I myself have seen some "high impact" caches during my short stint with the game. Anyhow, I guess it never hurts to remind us all that we need to take care when placing the caches! gapertimmy GAPER!
