orienteeer replied to orienteeer's topic in How do I...?
ARISOFT & MAUSEBIBER! you have solved my problem! i was looking for a cache that i knew i had photos from, but couldn't remember. you have done me a great service, and i thank you! -
i'd like to search my logs, but filter out the logs WITHOUT images that i added to many logs. any hope?

since we're talking about the Garmin GPSmap 62stc.......does anyone know how to "pause" the trip computer? like when i am hiking or geocaching, but i need to drive to get to another starting spot? so my maximum hiking speed doesn't come out to 55mph?

found another archived cache today that had been deleted from the map, and it was not grayed-out as archived caches usually are, just gone! i tried your method to post my find, and it worked! thanks very much!

You should still be able to get to it via a direct link: http://coord.info/[insert GC code here] Very, VERY rarely are cache listings entirely removed from the website, so they should still be around.

ok, i'll try it. thanks!

i don't use a phone, i copy GC codes from my computer to my GPSr. but i've had this happen 3 times in the past year: i locate a cache, sign the log, then come home to post my find. what??? the cache is no longer on the site??? no indicator saying it's been archived or disabled, just no longer on the map! what's up with that?

Folding up that LOOONNNNG scroll of log paper
orienteeer posted a topic in General geocaching topics
i decided to help the next finder & i now fold the scroll with my (latest) entry on TOP. if it's to be put in a pill pouch, as so many are, i put my entry facing the clear side w/o the label, so it shows immediately. comments? -
thanks for this hint! it works!

possible external power supply for GPSMAP 62stc
orienteeer replied to orienteeer's topic in GPS technology and devices
thanks for all your suggestions. the one unit from garmin that was recommended 1st is NOT compatible with my 62stc, according to garmin tech support. i will investigate other options, although the more i use it, the more satisfied i am with its performance using energizer ultimate lithiums. when i had a colorado, it ate those batteries like candy. not so with my 62stc. thanks again. -

all - forgive my nooby-ness. just didn't want to spend $99 on a gizmo that might fry my GPSr. thanks to all for your input. i plan to call garmin re: compatibility. thanks again.
