  10. The final arrangements are made and a meeting location has been acquired. The coordinates for the meeting are: N40 46.464 W089 40.432 There has been one change. Due to the hours of operation of the meeting place, the meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. instaed of the previously planned 7:00 p.m. The meeting place is not a restaraunt like the last one. There are, however, a number of places in the area to eat if anyone wishes to go out before or after the meeting. For those of you not from Peoria there are all kinds of caches in the area so if you haven't cached here before you will have all kinds to go for. I look forward to seeing you all there. ---------- A man said to the Universe: "Sir, I exist!" "However," replied the Universe, "The fact has not created in me a sense of obligation." -- Stephen Crane
  11. No. This meeting is to plan an ICACHE event cache in the near future among other things. I wouldn't call this an event cache as I don't anticipate you'll even need your GPSr after you find the place. Look for an event cache soon though. 14. I'm gonna get it one of these days. I've been awfully busy since we bought a new house. Seems there's always something to be doing. ---------- A man said to the Universe: "Sir, I exist!" "However," replied the Universe, "The fact has not created in me a sense of obligation." -- Stephen Crane
  15. ICACHE is now off the ground and starting it's journey. The first ICACHE meeting was held on March 15th and went over very well. Among other things dues were established at $5.00 per year calendar year per geocaching name, an executive board was formed, and a good time was had by all attendees. If you are from the Central Illinois area please come check out the discussion forums at http://icash.sub-genius.com for more details. I look forward to seeing you there. ---------- A man said to the Universe: "Sir, I exist!" "However," replied the Universe, "The fact has not created in me a sense of obligation." -- Stephen Crane
  16. The plans are finalized. On Saturday, March 15, 2003 at 6:00 pm the Illinois Capital Area Stash Hunters will have it first meeting at: N40*09.515 W089*23.247 Anyone able to attend is welcome. 17. Okay, I think that more time to plan would be a good idea. There are inherit issues with doing this planning on a discussion board so I will use the ICASH discussion forums to send a mass email with this change. I think two weeks should give enough time while not completely stalling our progress. I am also wondering if a different location should be considered. While our Geographical target area extends well south of Springfield most of our members are going to be from North of Springfield. Seeing as how Springfield is quite a drive for those from Peoria area I am wondering if Lincoln would be better. Of course, Lincoln is great for me but, I am willing to go anywhere so let me know if this will work for you. I think Wadcutter is the only one that will have a longer drive, although I may be mistaken. At any rate, get ready to recieve your first ICASH email bulletin. 18. I'll keep an eye on the weather report. I'm almost wondering if Saturday is too soon anyway. Maybe a little more notice would be good. What do you think? 19. I knew someone would call me on this one. Thanks for the coords. ---------- A man said to the Universe: "Sir, I exist!" "However," replied the Universe, "The fact has not created in me a sense of obligation." -- Stephen Crane
  20. If this time/place doesn't work for you, it's certainly not set in stone. Post when and where you would prefer and we'll try to come to a concensus. Thanks. 21. Would 6:00 p.m. on March 1, 2003 at the Springfield, Illinois Denny's on Wabash be suitable for our first ICASH meeting? The address to the Denny's is: 2599 WEST WABASH SPRINGFIELD, IL 62704 (217)698-1049 ---------- A man said to the Universe: "Sir, I exist!" "However," replied the Universe, "The fact has not created in me a sense of obligation." -- Stephen Crane
  22. I am strating a new thread for discussion on our first ICASH meeting. Please refer to it. thanks Brad ---------- A man said to the Universe: "Sir, I exist!" "However," replied the Universe, "The fact has not created in me a sense of obligation." -- Stephen Crane
  23. Well, I made a couple changes to the site today. I changed the "Favorites" page to the "Links" page, reorganized it, and added links to the Macon County Conservation site and to CYbret's site. So far only four users have registered on the Message Board. I hope that everybody will register because, at this time, this is as close as it gets to being a "member" of ICASH. The folks over at MiGO (Michigan Geocaching Organization) have me jealous with their promotion buttons. You can see what I mean at the following link: http://mi-geocaching.org/modules.php?name=Promote_MiGO I would love to have something similar to this but, alas, this is one of my largest shortcomings, I lack artistic skills, sooooo.... If any of you are artists I'd love your help with this. All this website stuff is nice but, what we really need is a get together! I think in the next couple of weeks we should plan something, even if it's just coffee (or Mt. Dew in my case) at Denny's. We really need to establish some sort of leadership to coordinate events and steer our club in the right direction. Before I bore you all to death, I'll close. 24. Crystal clear! I'm glad we got that sorted out. A couple of things about the ICASH website which can still be found at http://icash.sub-genius.com Things changed today: -- Added Discussion Forum -- Made Feedback Form work -- Added a guestbook I still need all the input I can get. For example, answers to the following question would be helpful: 1. What are some other geocaching sites I can link to? 2. What can I add as far as content? 3. Where did I put my can opener? 4. Should I add a chat room? 5. Does one page take too long to load? 6. Where can I get photos for the phot page? Well, you get the idea. Anything you think might be helpful will be appreciated. Thanks. 25. Well, I spent about two hours tonight starting to develop a website for the club. I need feedback from everybody willing to give it. Please don't expect too much at this point though, there are several area that I need to bring up and running and none of them are by any means complete. This is just a rough draft. the address is: http://icash.sub-genius.com/index.htm I can't stress enough that I'm going to need input. Thanks Brad ---------- A man said to the Universe: "Sir, I exist!" "However," replied the Universe, "The fact has not created in me a sense of obligation." -- Stephen Crane
