  1. I searched the forum and looked around, but can't seem to find it. How do I archive an uncategorized waymark? I went ahead and submitted it and thought there would be a way to archive it after submittal. Please advise. Thanks!
  2. Well, we have 2 out of 4 that needs to be demoted. I want to recruit at least 1 in order to make the category still viable with 3 officers.
  3. Sadly, both BruceS and chstress53 are both officers in one category of which I am leader. I wouldn't have problem with leaving them in the officer role, but we will need to recruit a lot more officers in order to get votes passed efficiently.
  4. I'm so sorry to hear this. He was part of Waymarking from the beginning. RiP.
  5. The Pet Cemeteries groups needs more officers. If you are willing and able and not a total newb to Waymarking, please message me. Thanks in advance! Preferably, I would like to get at least 2 more officers so that I can remove the inactive officers. Also, is there a problem with Waymarking falsely saying that a user has not logged in since x date on their profile?
  6. Nope. I am correct. The (Close) is not clickable like a link. It is Java Script where onClick it removes the pending Field Notes display dynamically. With pending field notes: After clicking on the not a link (Close) text: I am not sure what even triggers the display of the pending field notes. I had to log out of the website, and then it displayed it again. Obviously you have to have pending field notes for it to display at all. I assume it tracks your visit cookie, and will only display on the first visit and / or until you click the Close to not have it display.
  7. The (Close) is in relation to your field notes. You can click the text "(Close)" and it will go away. The "Your Profile" is larger letters is something else and apparently close to the field notes. There use to be a picture of an X near the Close but I guess the image is not loading and the (Close) is the alternate text which is showing.
  8. This was the closest thread topic I could find that sounded like a similar problem. Split it into a new thread if necessary. Since last night I have a pocket query that will not run. I turned it on, and it didn't run for Sunday. This morning I turned it on for Monday, and it has been 2+ hours and it has not run either. This query has run fine in the past, and it even ran successfully on 01/11/10 at 9:35 pm pacific. Are there any issues with all pocket queries? The special My Finds pocket query did run fine just before I turned this one on, so I tend to think it may be just this query. Any ideas?
  9. This is true for me as well, but I can click on the "Close" text to get rid of it. The X that used to be there is not showing anymore for me.
  10. For that earthcache challenge, they use the official designation on earthcache.org for each cache.
  11. I can think of at least a case where 48 hours is not enough time. Sometimes when I am on a long trip I have lots of caches to log. Earthcaches take more effort to log since you have to post a picture and email the owner (almost always). It can be a pain to get your pictures off the camera at night when time is short and the next day of your trip comes quickly. In the few cases where this has happened to me, I logged a Note to the cache that I could change to a Found log later when I can post the picture and email the answers. That way the order of the finds could be preserved, and you could have more time to log the find correctly.
  12. Cool. Congrats. Hey, I know where that is. I've driven by there several times on my way to Knoxville. I will have to stop and do the earthcache the next time I am over that way.
  13. Hello all, I need some help finding out about this tidal benchmark. It has number 1510 B stamped on it and 2006. I can't find it in the NGS database. It is at: N 29° 17.435 W 094° 47.268 http://img.Groundspeak.com/Waymarking/0991...5e32409c348.jpg http://img.Groundspeak.com/Waymarking/88e8...51ebb209e5a.jpg http://img.Groundspeak.com/Waymarking/e5fc...3161048ccbb.jpg I've got a waymark ready for this, but i am waiting to submit it until I find out more info about it. Thanks, Gil
  14. I don't think you should list the same venue as seperate waymarks if multiple teams play there. You should only list it once, and then allow it to be listed in a field at the bottom what team(s) play there with optional web links to the team(s) official website. I suggest you list examples of acceptable titles. Outlaw all caps (just tacky in my opinion). valid title examples: Minute Maid Park, Houston, TX, USA Santa Ana Star Center, Rio Rancho, NM, USA Wedemark Icehouse, Hannover, Germany You might also want to include an optional field to list the street address as well as list an optional link to the official website. The part about there being a main entrance is not needed. Most venues that I know of do not have a main entrance. It would be an arbitrary choice which entrance is the main one. I do like the requirement about a photo being required with either the person themselves or even of their GPSr if they were alone. It should never be the default photo unless there isn't a better one.
  15. The category title sounds grammatically incorrect. Anamorphoses is plural of anamorphosis. Also anamorphosis is a noun. The adjetive form might work better. Potential corrections: Anamorphic Street Art Street Art Anamorphoses
  16. I am getting very frustrated with some of the new features. Specifically the radius and location filters. What ever was last selected in any category is automatically selected on any other category that you go to. For example, I was browing the Airports category. Only 2 waymarks showed up. I selected the biggest radius possible (200 miles). Ok, 4 waymarks showed up. Ok, how do I get to see them all. Where do I click to get rid of the location filter. It is nowhere to be seen. Finally, I uncheck the "display waymarks only" on the right hand side. Then and only then do I get the option to clear my location filter near the top of the page. I propose that ANY time you go to a catgeory by title, that it shows ALL of the waymarks as a default. No location filter. Sorting should DEFAULT to newest as well. It is VERY counter intuitive to have to unclick "display waymarks only" in order to clear the location filter. I cannot stress enough that this should be changed.
  17. I also noticed that if you select a picture to upload as part of the initial waymark creation, that it does not upload. It is not in the gallery.
  18. If I go to my visits page. http://www.Waymarking.com/my/logs.aspx?f=1&tp=2 and click on any of the numbers or Next to go to seperate pages, I get an error page and go back to My profile page. http://www.Waymarking.com/my/?aspxerrorpath=/my/logs.aspx
  19. If I print the directory from FireFox, it cuts off the page about half way down. http://www.Waymarking.com/directory.aspx?f=1&tp=2 It could be a FireFox thing, but maybe not. Is there a better printable version of the directory in the works?
  20. If I go to a waymark that I don't own in a category that I manage, I see the edit waymark button on the right hand side. If I click it I get a nasty error. This is the URL. http://www.Waymarking.com/wm/?aspxerrorpath=/wm/edit.aspx Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off". <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web> </configuration> Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL. <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web> </configuration>
  21. Actually, I correct my previous terming. This is a way to reject a waymark that was previously approved. It does not archive the waymark as the topic title suggests. The waymark owner can still resubmit it for approval. So in a sense it does remove it from view of everyone exceot the waymark owner. If you convince the owner to archive it after it is rejected then that would be the desired result asked about in the original post. I believe that everything stays intact when it is rejected, but I could be wrong. It sounds like to me you need / want the ability as a category owner to be able to edit the waymark, but for it to still be visible. I'm not sure you can do that currently. Unless you convince the waymark owner to do so.
  22. There is a way to do this, but it is not very straight forward. Here are my instructions for it from a previous thread. Basically, you have to get to the approve / reject waymark page for the waymark. Then you can decline it, and it is gone. Save off the WMGUID for the waymark you want to remove. It is in the URL of the waymark page. Then replace it in the URL below. There ya go. Waymark Approve / Reject Link
  23. I asked about this a few weeks ago. I am under the impression as well that only the catregory leader (as well as the waymark owner) can see the private messages in that field of a waymark. I think some people tested it and said that they could see it, but I am never sure. Any official word on this?
