  1. ...when what to my wondering eyes should appear but Jeremy Irish on the Travel Channel last night! Just so happened to be channel hopping and the word "geocaching" caught my ear that a story was coming up next so waited to catch it. Was totally surprised to see "our" site and Jeremy! Three cheers for getting more info out there on geocaching! You go, Jeremy! Kathy in WV Kathy in WV

  3. It says that if we find a benchmark to take pictures of it and/or log it for others to read. Where do we do that? I have found one that does not show up on the list. Kathy88 Kathy in WV

  7. We just bought our GPS Magellan Map 330X last week and I downloaded a few waypoints in it. When we turned it on today [in preparation for finding our fist cache] there are two small black spots down at the bottom of the screen. Any ideas what this could be? Kathy in WV

  15. You didn't give us the choice I would have taken. Clean up everything but the needles! Those, I wouldn't touch no matter what! Even though you could probably get things just as worse or more worse than what you might get from a needle by picking up something as seemingly harmless as a soda can! quote:Originally posted by Hoover and Root:There has always been a lot of litter in the woods where I hid my cache, but today I found some "insulin syringes." What do you think I should do? I am leaning towards the first choice, but would like to hear what others have to say. Kathy in WV

  20. After clearing the memory on my GPS and starting over I figured that I'm so used to having to check a box for everything I checked that one.......and it's so close to the "download" line, too. The second time I got only one waypoint. Thanks for all the quick responses. quote:Originally posted by wolf&mist:By any chance did you check the box for downloading nearest place names also? 24. Ok, so I downloaded from geocache.com the first cache we want to search for and it downloaded LOTS of waypoints. So now when I hit route I get so many icons that I can't see anything but them! Are you supposed to delete a lot of them from EasyGPS before downloading to the GPS so the screen won't be so cluttered? I just don't see that we'd want ALL those points in our GPS, especially when we are familiar with the vicinity of the cache. I'm just not sure the proper process to take in this. I hope the first time is the hardest! Kathy in WV [This message was edited by kathy88 on August 04, 2002 at 07:38 AM.]
