  1. My kid used to raise show bunnies and we had to tatt their ears for ID
  2. I only have one and it was a challenge or so I thought. I found it on my e-mail report and went for it. I was excited to be able to get one because my area seems to have lots of caches and prolific cachers. By the time I see a new one it already has an FTF log. My FTF has gone unanswered and unfound or logged since. (been a couple weeks) That seems to take some of the wind out of my sails. I thought it was a good hide and it took me to a park with trails i never would have gone too even if i knew it was there. I probably will go back to clearing my closest to home search results page. That even has a few new ones on it but there all logged already. Sometimes on our motorcycle outings i will load a few cachesin my GPSr if i know where we are going and get one while away. The other couple we ride with arent cachers but will help look even tho they seem to veiw this activity as useless. They dont like my GPS knowin where were lost at on our longer trips but are willing to follow me using it to get back home or to Find food or lodging. so if owning a bike makes me a biker my Garmin makes me a cacher..............seems i got a quote sinature thingy goin..........and no more tadpole designation
  3. I'm in a different state with the same situation!!!! It keeps making me wonder if they are sewing the seeds of conquest for our area or just getting our attention as "that place which advertises here for no reason"? It does sort of make you want to go to one, just to say you have after seeing it for so many years without one in sight! It makes it stick out in your mind more than places with ACTUAL LOCATIONS around, I suppose. Seeing as we both noticed it (and many others) there probably is a method to their madness. I bet the CARHOP knows WE just got our first Sonic this year, stopped at a lot while motorcycling in the midwest I have a similar situtation too except with a different fast food place, Red Robin. I live in Mississippi and every so often I'll start seeing a bunch of RR commercials where I live. The only thing is is that there are no Red Robins anywhere IN Mississippi. As for the question at hand, unfortunately I don't really have any ideas other than possibly one. Maybe it's underneath one of the tables that are located in front of the building where the employees come from? Likely not, but it's the only suggestion I didn't notice.

  6. as a newbie what frustrates me the most is people who dont monitor their caches. the closest cache to my home is in a little park with all DNF's and a note to owner on the first page, including my own DNF. it seems like months since a find was logged and no response from the owner. I did a mystery cache where you have to answer questions that have the answers on a sign at the coords then e-mail the owner. after 3 weeks with no response i finally logged it a find. and finally my first FTF was a planned out operation to a park that was a 20 mile drive (6.5 as the crow flies). I found the cache left by a local BSA troop. was a good hide in a park with great hiking and the ammo box had tons of swag. i logged the FTF and now a couple weeks later there is no activity other than my log on that page. just venting cuz i got MY fun out of these hides as for the easy LPC and such that folks complain about, my first was a surprise but i found a few since and now when i get near GZ and see a pole its where i look first. but they help tune your geo instinks and can be good practice
  7. I got my 1st FTF today right between the drunken bee dance and the boogie dance....... wouldnt dream of not bein there to feel it (also trying to lose this tadpole designation)
  8. moon cache??? lemme see what i got for a good trade item.............
  9. Marine-Tex is the answer, kinda spendy but it is JB weld on steroids. i have made repairs to metal and plastic with the stuff and never had it fail. One repair is on my 69 FLH (Harley). It developed an oil leak at the bottom of the oil tank that turned out to be a crack that was non accessible from the outside. Cleaned the inside with Brakleen and put a patch on the inside. 2 years and still holding. Also my gps cradle has 1 long screw attaching it to the bracket on my fairing. The boss the hole runs thru was broke away from the cradle and i repaired it with the stuff and still using it. http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userp...arine-Tex+Epoxy
  10. I was introduced to geocaching by my son. Ive been on and off doin this stuff. Dont really know anyone else doin it and only a few who even heard of it. I use my GPSr mainly as a speedo on my bike cuz the factory one is 5 mph off. Also I use it to navigate on trips. When I notified the dealership about the speedo thing they said my GPSr was probably wrong. Then explain why I log more miles between fuel stops than my riding buds. Anyway I enjoy trying to be stealthy and playin with the GPSr. My immediate goal is clearing the list near my home and then possibly along my commute. That takes me into your area. The closest one to my work was Deadline USA but it has been archived.
  11. Its as close to home as I can find on here...... oh yeah, Im in Napa
  12. Hello, Im new to geocaching but use a Garmin IQ5 also. I found it very accurate as long as you dont need the arrow to point towards the right directon. If you turn the map off and open QueGPS it has the LAT/LON coordinates and last time I used mine it said accuracy 4.92 ft. I need to configure it so I can veiw the data from the pages. Right now I enter the coords in mapsource on my desktop then transfer them as waypoints to the garmin. I looked at the free software on the site but it doesnt list my unit. Gonna try to decipher this forum and see if I can figure it out. Thought I could just save the pages for offline veiwing but it seems to only save the last one veiwed.
